Air Chuck Covers

Anyone found a good way to keep crap out of the air chucks on your on-board air? I was using 3/4" chair leg caps but they don't fit great, saw these on Amazon:

There's also some rubber ones but a lot of reviews said they didn't hold up.

Used to be a company called Wits End that made plastic & aluminum air nipples. But after a search it appears they've gone out of business. I've got two of them for my air chucks.

One idea, get a standard air nipple and put a cap over the end so stuff doesn't get inside.

That’s nice! Web site is not working any more. Would be cool to find that same thing

Looks like something is already on Printables. Could likely 3D print something an add an O-ring.

While those are a neat idea I'd rather have a complete cover like the crutch tip. Just plugging the inlet keeps crap out of that part but what about sand, rain and crap that gets behind the collar and into the ball bearings?

Back when I did my first OBA install I had the Kilby Air and they had a rubber boot for the chuck they offered. I had one on my front bumper and the rubber got brittle after a couple of years. Also the brass chuck got corroded and wouldn't work. It's why I went to that other design of chuck and the nipple,
We'll see how it holds up. If it doesn't work I'll switch out for the ARB.

Why not just take a 1/4" QD nipple and put a threaded cap on the end?

Yep I suggested that also... I do like my Wits End nipple but it doesn't do what the OP was looking for. As he said he was looking for something that covered the whole coupler to keep dirt out of the side where it slides on the barrel. Honestly the ARB coupler fits the bill for this better than the standard ones you use in your shop. Here in this picture he's pointing at what he's talking about.
