And So It Begins 04 Rubicon

So I am looking at the UCF stuff right now and like what I see. I already have a 4 inch suspension lift, 1.25 body lift, 1' motor mount lift, and only need the plate and drive shaft. Is the front drive shaft affected by all this? Ill reach out to Tom Woods as well as a local drive shaft company to see what I can get comparatively. What exhaust mods might have to be done and will this require tunnel mods? If so what do we mean by tunnel mods are we cutting or bending?

LOPRO Trans mount
Ultra High Clearance UCF

Edit To Add this option: Aluminum 2.5 inch clearance

Ultra High Clearance UCF

I’m running the 2.5 inch clearance version. I’ve heard that their lo pro trans mount come with extra vibration at idle. With the 2.5” drop, you can run the factory mount. The tunnel mods would be creating a couple dents for screw bosses on the rubicon T case.

As far as their skid plate goes…it’s ok not great. I’ve not damaged anything, and I’ve been on the skid a lot. Savvy is a much better design…well the old one is. I don’t know anything about the new one and if they kept the design the same. The UCF could be better, but it’s been sufficient for my needs

I bought the ultra clearance and still use the OEM transmission mount

Hell yeah that's what I wanted to know. I see you have a 2 inch suspension lift, 1.25 body, and 1 inch mml. Did you have to do any tunnel mods? You might just be selling me on the ultra.

I did not, but the 241 transfer case is bigger I think so not sure if that changes things

Ah ok maybe not the ultra but the 2.5 and keep stock mount. I really don't want to bang dents in the tunnel. I'll prolly do that since I have the Rubicon. Thank you guys I think I know shat I want. Oh and yeah Savvy makes nice things but the skid plate I looked at was almost 1200 bucks co.parex to 600 for this one

I will say I was on the skid a LOT when I was running 2.5" of lift and 33's. Now that I'm on 35's and 5.25" lift, the belly doesn't gut hung up all that often. Sometimes it does, but I have more issues with diff clearance than anything else now.

So I got nervous and after 3-5 double bourbons I ordered my skid assembly. Link is below but it covers transmission, transfer case, and oil pan. I'll reach out to James Wood in when I get home again or while I'm drunk on vacation whichever comes first lol.
2.5" clearance

So it was time to do a wir kit and add relays and fuses for accessories. 1/0 to the first fuse block and 1/0 to the alternator. 1/0 to the engine block for the ground as well. Winch is now on a 400 amp fuse and I added a plug at the front for jumper cables. I'll add switches in the dash for the relays I'm using right now and some USB ports for the radio and charging. Please don't grade too hard.

So next phase was to install and wire the new light switches to the new relays. Wow behind these dash boards it is crowded. Picked up an ignition hot to feed the switches and wired them to the relays. Next phase is wire in all the new lights. I will have at this point one NO relay and 2 dual contact NO/NC relays for anything I might want in the future. The switches were a perfect replacement thank you to who.ever on here suggested them. I am looking for the thread when I find you I'll make sure and thank you.
