What did you do to your TJ today?

The Eagles Bailed them out, The Armies of man; Gondor and Rohan united under Aragorn fought at the black gate against the last horde of Orcs, Sauron mustered after his defeat at the gates of Minas Tirith. While Sam, Frodo and Gollum fought in Mount doom to destroy the ring. The elves had all (mostly) sailed to The Grey Havens at this point. By the end of The Return of the King, the last of the elves: Galadriel, Celeborn, and Elrond, Sailed with Frodo, Bilbo and Gandalf to the gray Havens. Later Legolas visited the ocean and became so obsessed with the longing feeling for his homeland that he crafted a raft and sailed alone to the Grey havens marking the final departure of Elves from middle earth. This has been your LOTR tidbit for the day :)

If this is what shows my age, or lack of it, so be it. LOTR is awesome and I was hooked from The Hobbit. By the time I was allowed to watch the movies I was already a fan. The movies are the best Book to screen adaptation ever made. A feat like those movies will never be replicated in today's day and age. Tolkien never stopped writing about Middle Earth up until his death and posthumously his son and estate have published several other books based on his notes and writings. The man was a powerhouse. The Lore is intense and Vast. LOTR is IMO Today's Epic of Gilgamesh. Many others have tried and many have failed. Game of Thrones set out to be the fold to LOTR (and more adult and crude) and will likely never be finished and only contains around 1/4 of the lore LOTR has.

I only ever read "The Hobbit" in elementary school literature. I assume there's some relevancy there but I don't remember much of it. Never seen the movies (sorry @Kiwi TJ).

The Hobbit was made as a children's story that JRRT read to his son. It is the beginning of the entire LOTR Mainline story (Fellowship of the Ring, Two Towers and The Return of the King) Tolkien got the idea to create The Hobbit while in the trenches during WW1. Once he returned home he wrote it, took many years to publish it and then decided to write a more mature story about what happens to the ring after Bilbo.

For the investment of five hockey pucks and six fender washers my tailgate FINALLY doesn’t rattle. A previous owner swapped wheels and tires and the backspacing was far enough from stock that the spare tire never made contact with any of the tailgate or lower body bumpers.

Now it makes contact at all five points and nothing rattles while I drive down the road. I’m planning on cutting some rubber matting to replace the fender washers I used on the upper mounts. I hate half-finished projects. Who knows how many years that spare tire spent trying to break the mount off of the tailgate.

He is, but he is slowly coming around.

I would rather him do the Renaissance festival thing than drugs.

Slowly but surely, I am doing my best to turn him conservative, college about ruined him.

I have finally got him straight on the 2nd amendment and now am working on the reason the War of northern aggression was fought.
