An Abnormally warm spring weather day so after a very long workday.. I headed out , gotta love daylight savings

For the investment of five hockey pucks and six fender washers my tailgate FINALLY doesn’t rattle. A previous owner swapped wheels and tires and the backspacing was far enough from stock that the spare tire never made contact with any of the tailgate or lower body bumpers.

Now it makes contact at all five points and nothing rattles while I drive down the road. I’m planning on cutting some rubber matting to replace the fender washers I used on the upper mounts. I hate half-finished projects. Who knows how many years that spare tire spent trying to break the mount off of the tailgate.

Drove it…needed to balance out my trip to London where the hot water handle in my shower had a warning that the hot water might be hot, and last time I was yelled at by the office manager for plugging in a power strip without the proper electrical connection training.

Oh, that reminds me. My last employer suddenly put out a "pseudo rule" that we weren't allowed to change fluorescent tubes - and I had some idiot on the safety committee tell me that I wasn't "electrically qualified". I hit the roof, and went and raised holy hell in HR. I designed a 1,600 volt control system (at this outfit) and I'd been doing house wiring stuff since I was about 12 years old. You do NOT get to tell ME that I'm not "electrically qualified"!!

Replaced the rear brakes with BMB parts. Went to adjust parking brakes and couldn’t move the nut on the equalizer. Picked one up at the auto parts store and installed it. Will have to finish tomorrow with break in, ran out of daylight and I’m hungry.

Installed the Tom Woods driveshaft, set the pinion angle, took it for a short drive and no vibes!!!!!!!

So after getting the parking brake adjusted and break in done on the new rear brakes, I had to switch back to the stock wheels for inspection. Can’t run wheel spacers over 1/4”. Might have to look into getting wheels that don’t require the spacers.
