Weed Smell in Public

I smell it on the interstate a lot. Surely cops can.

Just weird, never happened til recently. Seems I smell it all the time lately.

This whole state smells like it 🤣 but it's legal here so the why is obvious. But that might be why even if it isn't where you live...

I smell it all the time where I live, many people smoke it here, it seems. I didn't smell it today but did witness a younger male (bold statement in this day and age, I know) dumping the contents of his/her/their water bong from the driver's door of his/her/their car in the grocery store parking lot earlier. Asshole.

It's one thing to use, but I think a little discretion and courtesy while doing so is prudent. Of course, I feel the same way about public cell phone use, but no one seems to give any fecks about that, either. 😒

I did some work in Las Vegas about a year ago and we were staying at the Bellagio.

As soon as you crossed the street, the smell of weed was everywhere.

I almost think it was purposely pumped in because the Taco Bell, McDonald's, and the local fast food shops were all along that part of the strip.

I went to a downtown restaurant next door to a head shop. It was interesting. Really enjoyed my meal😝
Was on an exit ramp interstate 40 following a rather erratic driver and at the stop they turned left and I pulled next to them to turn right. Refer madness for sure.
Was at a four way stop in town in the jeep with the top off. Refer madness again.
My neighbor moved here from Illinois where it’s legal. She walks the dog toking away and waving at us.
It’s every where

Is it just me or is this getting way more common?

Was just thinking. Spent part of my enlistment in the Navy as a cop. We couldn’t bust anyone or admit to knowing what pot smelled like till we went to a controlled burn. If we knew what it smelled like that meant we were guilty of smoking it!

Why @AndyG are you so familiar with this smell you speak of?😳🤔🫢

It really isn’t that obvious. I didn’t spell refer (reefer) madness correctly. So I can’t be that old🤣

in college, back in the olden days (before the internet, streaming services, social media & even widespread computer usage), we used to go to the library after 15+/- bong hits, get a copy of Eraserhead on VHS & a few pairs of headphones, go into a viewing cubical, pop it in, then roll on the floor laughing for as long as tolerable, or until the weed wore off.

To this day I couldn't tell you what it was all about

We went to see two movies wasted while in college.

The first one made perfect sense.

The second one scared me to death.........

Fitting story, leads to more problems.

"After five years of representing herself, Ippolito-Shepherd finally won her case in the DC Court of Appeals. A lower-court judge had already ruled in her favor in 2023, but Cackett, the stoner neighbor, appealed.

The higher court ended up siding with Ippolito–Sheppard, too, saying her “use and enjoyment of her own property” was more important than Cackett’s “use and enjoyment of his marijuana.’’

Cackett tried arguing that he only smoked once a day and never for longer than 5 minutes — all to cope with his many health conditions, including skin cancer, chronic hepatitis, arthritis and sciatica.

“I am not Snoop Dogg,” Cackett insisted to the court."

"The man has now been banned from smoking within 25 feet of Ippolito–Sheppard’s home — including on his own property."

"Marijuana has been legal in DC since 2015, but the case sets a new precedent there and potentially across the US for annoyed neighbors."
