Selling my 4.0 and NSG370 from my 2006 LJ, pulled to LS swap it. Garage is a mess around it, will try to clean up and get better photos.

Includes:
Engine
Transmission
Shifter
Master and slave
Full exhaust (1 cut in it)
Wire harness
Ecm
Drive Shafts
Radiator

Can include tcase that needs resealed

The Jeep had 77k miles when I LS swapped it. I do not believe the engine is original as it had a broken motor mount which means it came from a totalled Jeep, it has the aftermarket mount on that side. Zero issues.

I put a Crown OPD in it and all new O2 sensors a few years back (only drove this about 8,000 miles).

Nothing was cut that didn’t need to be cut. I am not running the Jeep ECM in my swap so included are pigtails from the body harness too. Most plugs are labeled.

Transmission shifts great, from how people normally describe these, this must be one of the best ones. No issues shifting or popping out of gear.

I only pulled this setup to LS swap, it ran great. I probably have more than listed to include.

If at some point the engine and gearbox part ways with each other, I might just be interested in talking turkey on that gearbox. My '05 NSG370 sounds like the opposite of yours.

A spare engine and ECM doesn’t hurt either…🤣

If the Jeep Fund wasn't hemorrhaging, I'd probably be on it like stink on dookie already. Would you take a carbine length M1 Garand in trade? :D

Wheels are turning things are grinding in my head on this one. More pondering and figuring needed.

Of all the issues with my beloved LJ, the gearbox concerns me most, and Tessie's is stereotypical of every issue the NSG370 can exhibit. I've learned to live with it but it does not inspire confidence. I'm about due for a clutch as well...

Why have we not invented teleportation yet? :ROFLMAO:

This one isn’t nearly as sporty and fun to shift as a T56 or other sports car transmission but I really haven’t had any issues with it. It is far better to shift than the NV4500 I had. I strongly would have considered running it with the 4.8 swap if the adapters were still available.

I really don’t know how it would react if you bang gears like a sports car… I’ve never had the heart to try it in a Jeep.

Right now I drive mine very carefully. The subtle lever movements, throttle blips and double clutches I have to do to get it to work somewhat smoothly have become almost routine, a ritual, but one that I could do without. Working between 1st and 2nd as well as finding (and keeping) reverse is always an adventure.

the NV4500

My first and only other gearbox issue prior to this was with the NV3500. 2001 Chevy Silverado, spent a shit-ton of money on that gearbox and it still wasn't right in the end. Wouldn't have been a bad truck save for that POS butter churn...

well I will never do a 370 by choice again... nope dont want to even consider that brain damage that would cause me. search my saga... Why I Hate NSG, I am on number 6 in 300 miles
