Anyone interested in an LS swap?

As the old saying goes" There's no Replacement for Displacement ". And while a 4.6 or 4.7 stroker build will make good power it's still not a V-8. But if you live somewhere that has strict emission laws or hassles you if you have a swap doing a stroker is easier.

I had a stroker but never really got to enjoy it... Plus it was a stroker 5.9 Magnum V-8 which made it a 6.7 (408 CI) but the block cracked on it due to a fuck up by the machine shop. It's how I ended up with the Hemi instead.

As you said earlier if you don't have a reason/need for the V-8 then you need to really ask yourself WHY? Don't get me wrong I love my V-8 but it's also a HUGE PITA.... I'm still trying to work through all the issues.

You summed it up 100% in your last statement. it’s the voice in my head that says it would be so much fun, but the kinda more practical me says the stroker is the right thing to do just because of what you said. It’s a huge PITA to work through all the problems and I don’t want to deal with it. I just want to drop it in plug and play and keep the problems to a minimum.

Part of this comes with how custom the rest of your Jeep is. And since most companies have stopped offering V-8 swap kits for the TJ you have to piece things together. And then how many other things are different on your rig. Nothing on mine was stock before I started and it just got worse. Do I think I'll get it all figured out? Sure but it's all the little things that come up.

But if you can buy this other rig for a GOOD price and have the time and place to part it out then I say go for it. Just know it'll take time to sell all the stuff off. I've got so many parts now that I can't use it's crazy.
