As the old saying goes" There's no Replacement for Displacement ". And while a 4.6 or 4.7 stroker build will make good power it's still not a V-8. But if you live somewhere that has strict emission laws or hassles you if you have a swap doing a stroker is easier.
I had a stroker but never really got to enjoy it... Plus it was a stroker 5.9 Magnum V-8 which made it a 6.7 (408 CI) but the block cracked on it due to a fuck up by the machine shop. It's how I ended up with the Hemi instead.
As you said earlier if you don't have a reason/need for the V-8 then you need to really ask yourself WHY? Don't get me wrong I love my V-8 but it's also a HUGE PITA.... I'm still trying to work through all the issues.
You summed it up 100% in your last statement. it’s the voice in my head that says it would be so much fun, but the kinda more practical me says the stroker is the right thing to do just because of what you said. It’s a huge PITA to work through all the problems and I don’t want to deal with it. I just want to drop it in plug and play and keep the problems to a minimum.
