Why is this idea for Trans-temp stupid?

I see lots of solutions to adding a sensor port to the hard-lines or a bung in the pan.
I don't see much about using an inline fitting in the rubber hose that has a properly sized hole for a sender? Sure seems less hassle than the other solutions and I could put it on the hose going to/from the cooler. I get that the fluid temp coming directly out of the transmission might be better.

I installed a Glow shift oil pressure gauge and temperature sensor on my 97. I had to install a Racetronix 1/8" port cube and an extension for the temperature sensor to get everything to fit.

Problem is the temp sensor is so far away from the actual oil path the numbers aren't realistic. It's functional but completely useless.

That and everything leaks.

Remember that hose from your transmission is under a lot of pressure.
