Who makes a good door sill protector? I'm tired of the junk I have.

I purchased a pair of "name brand" door sill protectors and I think they broke the first time while I was installing them.
They have cracked and split a couple more times since without actually being abused, so they have to go.

What say you, forum members?

Who makes GOOD door sill protectors?

***My only requirement is that they must fit with the doors on.

Been using 3M marine non skid tape going on 5 years now and it still looks good.

I found the Extreme Terrain version, they look good but I would want them in black.
All of the black ones seem to be made of plastic.
I wonder how much it would cost to powdercoat a set?
Hmmm...

Previous owner put down some clear film on the sills, it is probable need a refresh but it’s done the job well

Find a good vinyl person in your area. If it's still in good shape have them cover it in clear. Otherwise pick a color.

I have some sort of clear tape or vinyl on mine. I don't know if is factory or from the PO, but it's held up well because I rarely put my feet on it. I have an unconventional way of hopping into my jeep and hopping out.

Good idea, but I need to replace what I have.
I'd rather go metal than plastic this time.
The only metal ones that I have found so far are stainless in color and I want them to be black.
Chrome is for the Harley. ;)

I have the set from Jeep, bought 8yrs ago. Have held up great, would like for the rear also but no luck.

I don't know if they ever made one for the tailgate area; I don't recall ever seeing one anyway.
I also don't think it would be all that difficult or expensive to bend up a homemade version; assuming access to a brake that's wide enough.
Hmmm...

That clear film is actually factory. Ours was scuffed up pretty good so I cleaned it all off and added the black ones which have now cracked.
