Knowing what real friends are.
Did the fraternity thing in college, of all my 75+ “brothers” two were my groomsman, me theirs. Fast forward 20ish years later, they and their families were at my Daughter’s Bat Mitzvah and last week I was in Dallas for one of their kids Bar Mitzvah.
Another example, rode the tech startup wave pretty well, 18+ hour days, continuous travel, talked to my “work friends” more than my wife. Of all those people, there was only one who I decided to start our own company with and when we sold it and I bought my jeep a few years later, he’s the one who flew down to help me put on my lift.
I’m not anti social, I just like my jeep, my dogs, bourbon and 3-4 people.
