Thoughts on this RV travel trailer?

Very nice. When we had a pop-up, which was smaller than that one, it came with a sway control bar but no WDH. Even with my F150, I used the bar just to be safe. Like any other trailer, if you have it loaded right and level and the weight doesn't make the front end of your truck rise significantly, you're probably good.

I always think it's funny to see microwaves in RVs/trailers. My wife and I were just working on our kitchen design and we were trying to think of how often we use a microwave at all. We will keep a very small one, but I can't really imagine a case where we'd ever miss one while camping.

Nice looking trailer though, we plan to do something like this eventually.

Agreed! The standard (non high wall) pop-ups have microwaves but no oven. When you go to the high wall you get the microwave AND the stove. I’d rather have the stove any day over a microwave, because as you mentioned, I’m just not sure we would use it.

They gave me a good deal on it since it was on clearance. Below their advertised price.

Should be fun to modify too. I’ve seen all the things you can do to these, and it’s a lot like a Jeep.

Yep, they’re super excited. I’m going to give them a good time by taking them to the KOA here at Palmer Gulch / Rushmore.

Great plan ! Fun and close to you for a good shakedown cruise ! You're doing the right thing Chris , you only get one shot at raising your kids . May God bless your adventure .

Amen!

It’s all about memories at this age. That’s my hope is that they can look back and remember all the fun times.

I don’t know if you’ve checked out that KOA by the way, but it’s unreal!

Look at the RecPro microwave/air fryer. I am going to swap the microwave/convection oven in mine for one. I use my air fryer all the time in my house.

I am to late to the party to give any advise but no more than you will use it and have to store and maintenance it my advise would have been to rent one, I have a 2017 W40 Work and Play that is stored inside and used once a year to go to the NHRA drag races in Bristol TN. It is perfect for my 3 buddies and I to stay in at the race track, we actually have a track side spot at the 1000 foot finish line (been in this spot for over 20 years) . I have threatened to sell it but my buddies whine so much I just keep it. I actually used it a lot when I first got it hauling my RZR to various off road parks and also kayaking on the Caney Fork river.

We do too! We have a double oven (the lower can double as an airfryer) and a counter top airfryer - that would be we more useful in a camper/rv/trailer. Bookmarked that for whenever we decide to get one.

It's a fairly new option and a lot of the newer high end RV's have them. I do make popcorn so the microwave is good for that... And hardboiled eggs... There are a few other things I use it for but the air fryer is a lot more versatile.

Reviving this thread as there may be others looking. Last night I was looking for small, lightweight camping solutions for my newly ordered Ranger, I saw the usual $25,000-$30,000 Casitas and Scamps which BTW are excellent quality, and I looked at a lot of lightweight popup solutions including bed mounted units but by accident I happened upon this dealer in Madison, AL with what seems to me to be ridiculously low closeout prices on new 2024 models. True they are entry level quality and small but for $12,000 that seems dirt cheap even for a 10 year throw away trailer, and if you take care of it would probably last longer. They even have dry baths and some can sleep up to 6. My only reservation would be how well they handle on the highway at speed and I wouldn't expect them to hold up to rough off road use much at all.

BTW @Chris how is the HW working out?

So far so good, we love it! The highwall model is nice too because it actually has counter tops that are standard height. I'm quite happy with the purchase!
