2001 Jeep TJ sport 4.0 l I understand I had the Dana 30 front axle and the Dana 35 rear. Can anybody give me the numbers are where to get the gaskets for these axles AutoZone and advance have no idea what they're talkin about

I ran into the same issue and was never able to find them. I had to bring in the old one so they could try matching it up. Unfortunately I did not keep the boxes. Anyone able to help here?

Sorry,
I missed part of the sentence:
Use small ball peen hammer to punch out the boltholes

My dad had a hell of a time getting his fabricated 10 bolt diff cover to seal up. Tried silicone twice (to be fair didn't wait for it to dry completely before filling but we've never had an issue in the past). I think he couldn't find the correct lube locker but he bought a gasket from the local parts store. Still dripped. Finally he bought a piece of gore tex and custom cut a gasket out of it and it's sealed up perfectly since.

Clean both surfaces thoroughly and apply some of the Mopar RTV, allow to set up for 30-45 minutes and install the differential cover, allow to set up for an hour and then fill differential with gear lube to proper level.

Imagine all that, and he could have just used RTV and been done with it.

I've had good success in the past using great stuff gasket maker/sealant. I use black RTV to seal timing covers and such on Land Rover engines so I'd imagine it would easily hold up for a differential.

Since I had already purchased the paper gaskets I put a thin layer of RTV on each side works great no leaks. Only took 2 and 1/2 quarts for the front and rear specifications said it would take three. Will drive tomorrow and check fluid levels. I appreciate everyone's help
