What did you do to your TJ today?

This is what I need to find out… because the heater core has coolant running through it… correct?

Nope, it's the cooling water from the engine cooling system that goes through the heater core. There is another kind of radiator for cooling and that's where the cooling liquid flows through. I don't know what it's called.

That's what ot looks like:

@Kiwi TJ the heater core has engine coolant running through it. The AC system has freon in it. The picture @andyj posted is of the evaporator from under the dash (it looks like i don't think Its the condenser)that's what the freon runs through.

2 different parts

You might really want to check with them and make sure of what they are doing. Heater core has nothing to do with the AC.

Thanks… dropped off the Jeep and then had to bike home before I start work…
Hopefully they find the leak in the A/C and can re-gas it with no problems…. Or it could get a bit pricey

I actually used my A/C yesterday for the first time since June or July when I recharged the freon - was pleasantly surprised that it was still cold!

Decided to lay out my new Bestop roof in the garage… as the Jeep is getting worked on.
Really pleased to see no Bestop tramp stamp…🥳
Now if I can just time it right and get a day off when the sun is out I can get this thing fitted.View attachment 656119

I cant imagine New Zealand tax.... they make you pay to park in your own garage

Yeah anything over $1000 (New Zealand dollars) they will sting you for import duty, and then you have the exchange rate 😞 it can get quite expensive bringing something in from America.
You have to be 100% sure you have bought the right item otherwise it’s a very expensive mistake.

Okay just got back from the air conditioning “ experts” 🤔 ….
The guy that told me it was the heater core was incorrect… I spoke to the boss and he said it’s the evaporator core that is the problem…(which makes more sense)
Obviously still have to pull the dash.

Maybe do the heater core as well while you're in there, assuming it hasn't been already.*

* Edit: has occurred to me since posting that doing this may well be obvious, something I have an incredible grasp of... :D
