What did you do to your TJ today?

What winch plate is that? How much did Betty's front end sag? (too personal?) 😬 I want to mount the winch I got free, but don't want to have to add spacers to lift the front back up.

Coming from the guy who's Jeep has never seen anything more than curbs or speed bumps at the mall!!!!!!!🤣🤣😶‍🌫️😶‍🌫️

Broke a clip on the lower dash panel while updating the phone mount. One step forward, one step back.
I 'fixed' it with a zip tie and a drill bit.

Good as new.

I will be interested to see how they work , I tried some high dollar Bosch " Uniblade " type when I bought my used Tacoma . They were like $ 35.00 each , I was beyond pissed when the first one tore just above the wiping edge at 7 weeks . I put the old blade back on I left in the garage , 2 days later the same thing happened to the other Bosch. " Winter " type blades work well for me , but cost twice as much as the Michelin's .

I've pretty much tried them all, and they all suck. Word on the street - for whatever that's worth - says these are mo' bettah. We'll see.

As a comparison, at one point I had a Warn VR8000 winch with steel cable, steel roller fairlead and a Smittybilt raised winch plate. That whole set-up weighed 84 lbs. It was mounted on an LOD stubby bumper (which I think you have, or had) and it lowered the Jeep 1/2” up front. That was with Old Man Emu springs. I’d guess John’s Quadratec plate is pretty similar in weight to whatever the Smittybilt weight is since they are pretty much the same design.

I’ve since replaced the steel cable and steel roller fairlead with synthetic rope and one of Blaine’s safety thimble fairleads but I never measured it after the swap.

Yea, I'm tired of that shit. If these last the "several years" as promised, I'll be very happy. I put a set on the MBZ about the same time I put these on the Jeep. The Jeep's (front) were completely shot, the MBZ's are still like new. We'll see how long they stay that way.

Here in AZ its just understood that you are changing blades every year. Nothing withstands the heat and dry rot

Close but not identical, but no meaningful sag when I changed bumpers and plates.

Left is Smitty winch, generic EAG plate and synth line on stock bumper

Right is warn 9.5, smitty raised winch plate , synth line, warn rock crawler bumper and warn steering skid
