What did you do to your TJ today?

Ordered an oil pressure tool kit for it. I (well had hubby) replace my oil pressure switch and also change the oil and filter because my oil gauge was pegging all the way to the right. I forgot it was doing that and drove it and noticed it was actually moving from pegged to the right back to about 60. Changed all the above, and it now reads from about 40 at first start up, then as it gets hotter, it goes down and runs about 20 ish at normal cruising speed. Way lower than it was before it pegged. At idle it is almost to the 0. I chalked it up as a aftermarket switch not playing right. But, I had to floor it the other day to get past a slower car before my lane ran out. The motor had to go into passing gear. When I got to the next light, the gauge dropped to 0 and my check engine light came on. Once I gave it some gas it did come back up, but that was enough for me to stop driving it till we can figure out if it is a bad switch or a pad pump. Hopefully this kit will decide that for me. :D It is prime Jeep weather right now and I am anxious to go topless. :D Well my version of topless. LOL

I was in the odd position of learning transistor theory before I learned vacuum tube theory. Transistors didn't make sense to me until after I'd learned vacuum tubes, then it all lined up.

We needed a special function radar, so the Navy bought one from Decca, London, England. I was elected to install it. First page of the manual: BEWARE THE EHT in bright red letters. I'm 20 yrs old trying to figure wth is EHT? None of the other ETs knew. Went to an "Irish" pub in Norfolk and asked if there was anybody who worked on UK radios or radar. Old guy in the back says, "what's your problem?" I say, "what is EHT?" He replies, "It's the extra high tension off the plate connector on the valve that feeds the klystron." "OK," says I "what's a valve?" His answer, "It's the glass thing with the emitter, plate and control grids." aka, a vacuum tube!
In a transistor, emitter, collector, and base.
Always liked tubes, especially for high power, over transistors. Xsistors just can't handle the heat.

Ever play with a mercury arc tube or similar? Lotsa fun!

Amateur…you gotta set that expectation early…

Also be really good at cleanup :) so you’ve got deniability.
I swear she has security camera's scattered around the house. I can get away with NOTHING.
I once put all my detailing towels in our home washing machine. To wash them. Isn't that what you have a washing machine for? To wash towels and such? She still brings that up... two decades later.

2005 TJ 4.0 6 speed manual 32” AT Coopers 4” lift

Finally got around to replacing the transmission floor pan seal and shifter boot. Last month when I replaced the clutch and throw out bearing I removed the degraded floor seal; for years I have enjoyed the automatic year round floor heater. I refuse to pay the +$250 replacement floor seal (interior console) so I made my own solution using 10mm rubber; while I had the center console out I painted it and the shifter knob and shift stick. I bought the shifter boot from redline goods (Amazon)“https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00QMHN6VK?tag=wranglerorg-20
Excellent quality fits perfectly.
All went well with the repair and the heater is gone; should have done this years ago.

Noticed a crack in the Bestop HighRock 4x4 HD tire carrier.. Removed it, welded the crack, added a strengthening gusset, painted and reinstalled. The pivot bushings were shot so I bought a sheet of UHMW plastic and cut new bushings for all the pivot points.

Replaced the Bestop InstaTrunk with a Tuffy Rear Security Enclosure. I had found the enclosure on MP months ago for a ridiculously low price and waited months for the seller to be able to ship. Didn't matter.. I wasn't going to install it over the winter. Come to realize the enclosure is for the 2003 and later TJ. Doesn't have the corner relieves for the rear seat lock arms. Got it installed none the less. Cleaned and painted the bed while everything was out. If anyone needs an InstaTrunk it's in the ForSale forums.
