Unit bearing recommendations?

Last week, I pulled out a pair of Timken unit bearings that sounded like maracas after 50k miles. These were put in to replace the factory bearings that I pulled out at 100k miles as preventive maintenance while I was replacing worn ball joints and leaking axle seals. Those oem bearings were smooth and quiet. And I happened to keep them as spares. I put them back in last week.

When I first got my jeep I did the same. I was working at the dealer so I got a great price on the Mopar Value line. tossed the OEM ones. have replaced unit bearings twice since then.

Timken is always the recommended replacement and it’s the only brand I would use.

They're priced fairly too!

I would personally avoid anything other than Timken, especially local auto part store junk.

Since Timken appears to be an imported item now, are they still the top choice? Any love for MOOG or SKF? Or any other brand? I am in need of a new unit and I'm curious to know everyone's thoughts.
