Undercoating Question

Does anyone know about how many spray cans of rustoleum it takes to paint the undercarrige of a TJ?

Is the undercoating needed ASAP? Or is it just because you want to do it?

Because, you could wait until you really had time, and then take the whole body off and leave just the frame, so that you can really clean it and really coat it well!

I was just planning on hitting the exposed frame, axles, ect... Just a bit of protection from saltwater while at the beach.

Understood. I think it would be the most thorough option to raise the body off of the frame, and cover every single nook and cranny. If you live on the beach, that's the best protection in my opinion!

2 cans is enough for what you want to do. Clean it as much as possible first so you don't trap salt under your new coat.

There's rust proofing for inside the frame and outside. It stops rust in its tracks.
I'm thinking about doing it but need to drill drain holes in the bottom of the frame to flush out the road sand and salt first.
