Cleaning the IAC valve

This would have been good info to add to the OP…..

Did the rough idle begin immediately after replacing the plugs and injectors? Did it cure your hard start issues?

What brand of injectors?

What brand of plugs?

Also agree with looking for vacuum leaks. I’d check the vacuum with a gauge. Might have damaged an oring when installing the injectors. Spray carb cleaner around the outside of each injector, the throttle body, etc. If you have a vacuum leak, the carb cleaner will be pulled into the intake and you’ll hear the engine briefly speed up.

Any trouble codes?

I actually noticed it after replacing the plugs. I put in oe ngk. I did pull them again and verify gap. The injectors are Bosch 4 hole. I replaced them because 4 out of 5 were cracked. The hard start issue is still there when it's cold but starts right up when hot. I'll try spraying the injectors and tb when I get back from vacation. Is there a goto video of checking leaks with a gauge?

Not trying to be harsh but you’re making us pry info out of you and not answering questions. We genuinely want to help you get it running right but can’t if you won’t give us info and answer questions.

When you diagnose problems, you start trying to eliminate stuff. Once you have eliminated everything, you are usually left with the solution to your problem. Also, learn from my mistakes (and others) start with the cheap stuff first….. I once replaced $250 worth of parts on my F150 only to find that the issue was a $10 vacuum check valve….and that’s just one story…..

When you replace something for maintenance (like spark plugs) and a new problem pops up, reinstall the old parts and see if the problem goes away. Did you buy the plugs off Amazon? Amazon is notorious for counterfeit parts like spark plugs. NGK makes good plugs….but even NGK can put out a bad one occasionally. And, if they aren’t really NGK….all bets are off.

Granted.

But did you use the new o-rings that came with the injectors... assuming they came with o-rings. They're two for each injector. They need lubrication like motor oil (per the FSM procedure) when installed to prevent tearing.

Yes they came with top and bottom o rings and came pre lubed

Changed the plugs and it's still there. Also sprayed carb cleaner on all the injectors, pcv valve and throttle body with no change to rpm's. Where do you hook up a gauge to check that way?

I kind of can’t believe no one has mentioned your injectors (maybe I missed it). The aftermarket 4 holes are known to be problematic and cause this very issue. Do you still have the old injectors?

No 4 of the 6 were cracked. Right now I'm really just trying to find out where to hook up a gauge to check for vacuum leaks.

Fine, they were cracked, but trust me that the replacement injectors could be bad. Get a scan tool with live data. Look at your STFT and LTFT. If the combined total is above 10% at 2000 rpm, you’ve got a lean condition. My guess is you’re negative because the PCM is trying to remove the extra fuel you’re shoving down its throat with the aftermarket injectors.

That’s too low brother. It’s a little confusing why STFT’s are trying to take fuel away with low fuel pressure though.

Well if the injectors are hemmoraging fuel... it's possible the regulator can't maintain pressure. But then I'd expect to see fuel trims maxed out at negative values around -20 or -25.

I'd replace the pump assembly. I put a Brute Power in mine from Rock Auto.

Why did you choose Brute Power?
