Topless Security

I think there are many countries other than the U.S. that have solved the gun violence issue.

Really? I think you'll find this isn't the case in regards to people killing people (regardless of method). The people in those countries do not have the freedoms we do, and never will. But feel free to move to one of those "other countries" if the founding documents are an issue for you. Me, I like it better here and I'm not playing games with my freedom.

Aside from being unconstitutional, no legislation proposed will do anything to solve gun violence (and it isn't intended to, by the way). You're lied to on a daily basis about the real numbers and who's committing what, you could find this out for yourself with a little effort but it sounds like you're okay with what your chosen media outlet or political party tells you. Your choice. Knowledge is power, or you can get your "facts" from places like Giffords, Moms Demanding Action, Everytown for Gun Safety and the like. They aren't telling you the truth, they are pushing an agenda.

The issue is much deeper than can be address in this post, but I think it's pretty clear you've bought the shit sandwich your chosen "leaders" and media outlets are selling, and it sounds like you're okay with the taste of it.

Deep down, I think all Americans know the solution. But, it is such a fiery issue, I don't think we are ready...yet.

The Constitution and Bill of Rights are as relevant today as they were when written. I'm not interested in what other countries are doing. Again, if you don't like it here, there's nothing keeping you from moving elsewhere. The issue is a fabrication, created by the same people pushing for eliminating the 2nd and confiscating firearms. Do your homework.

For me, the solution is eliminating the criminals attempting to neuter our rights and way of life for reasons other than saving lives. I'll leave it to you to figure out who those criminals are.

If you think for a second that you'll get to keep the rights you know and love once they've destroyed the 2nd, think again. There's a reason why it's the 2nd amendment and why it isn't written using the flowery language used in writing the others.

Maybe OP was abducted

maybe the OP was researching to prepare to steal a TJ and we just gave him all the tricks we use to make it more difficult, so now he can come prepared.

We should have an anti-theft/security subform that is completely invisible until you become a Supporting Member so we aren't just advertising all of our tactics for anybody to find.

I wasn't kidding earlier with my comment about universal compulsory military service. I reckon it becomes a lot less appealing to attempt a mass shooting when everywhere you go you're surrounded by people equipped and prepared to drop your ass before you squeeze off the second shot.

Spending a couple years of your 20s seeing the world and learning you're not the center of it would probably go a long way to solve many of our other problems, too.

I agree completely with what you say.

Get folks into real life situations and they will wish they had training!!!!

I'm glad I have it.

When I retired from law enforcement I had the right to CC but had to qualify each year with the department to keep that right, which was a pain in the ass, due to scheduling, days of qualifying and not being notified… I chose to complete the Arkansas state police CC class, which was good for 5 years… In my class alone there were 47 students and 7 stated they didn’t think they could kill someone but thought that the gun would scare them!…. That’s what scares me!… There is absolutely no reason for a person to carry a gun if you KNOW you will not use it… I politely asked 3 of those students what would you do if you pulled your gun and the bad guy kept coming, what would you do with the gun…. They left the class!…. People need to think about about this..

This^^ I did a gap year 2000-2001 before college in a foreign country with my youth group. Taught English, lived in public housing with new immigrants, volunteered for the park service, worked a farm. Changed my life and I plan for my kids todo something similar.

I was behind a truck on I-55 in Arnold MO one day. The guy had 3 bumper stickers. I agree with all three.

When guns are outlawed only outlaws will have guns

Ill give you my gun when you pry it from my cold dead hand

I dont blame Bill I would cheat on her too

We tried that. It was called the Wild, Wild West. But, come on you know that. I don't want to fight with Gun right advocates. I want the same thing that I think we all want in this great American nation. And that is peace from gun violence, killing innocent women, children and law abiding citizens on our American streets. Now tell me that I'm wrong.

Again, do your homework and quit regurgitating what your media and politicians are telling you. Educate yourself, otherwise you just come across as a shill, and an uninformed one at that. Sorry, but I'm going to call you out on this garbage.

I'm sure you mean well and you're probably a nice guy, and I don't really want to give you guff...but you're not making the connection between what you claim to want and how we get there. You're being sold a false bill of goods. You're boy Gavin is a prefect example of what's wrong and what we don't need. He and his ilk are not offering solutions, they're actually part of the problem.

But that is all the more I will say here, this is not the correct thread for any of this. I accept my part of the responsibility there.

I carry concealed everyday, everywhere, every time I set foot outside my house.

Ah yes.
The classic Second Amendment extremist response.
I enjoy conversations on this topic, because of my direct relation to events that have happened with the topic, as well as the possible education I could potentially offer someone in the process.

You do realize you can't just cold-blood someone for stealing things out of your vehicle, unless they're causing DIRECT danger to yourself, correct?

I own a LOT of firearms, and I also carry concealed, as well as a few 'hidden' in various places (in house & vehicles).
So I'm not saying this in a way to demean you or your statement. I do however truthfully believe that most people who think along these lines don't quite understand the ramifications involved, should an event like that happen.

I grew up in what could be considered a 'non-traditional' manner, which revolved heavily around firearms, criminals, and the legalities of firearm usage.
I was exposed to things at a very young age that most people wouldn't ACTUALLY see in a lifetime.

Dad was an undercover narcotics officer, and worked many nationally broadcasted cases with DEA / FBI involving large scale drug rings, as well as some very notorious crime/biker gang stings. (there's actually a few episodes on various Netflix series' of some cases he was directly involved in)

These were issues that followed him outside of his line of work.
This would sometimes create actual safety/security issues for us as a 'normal' family, so needless to say I was trained/guided on using firearms, at what I would consider to be 'way too young', and understanding that IF something needed to happen, I had to be okay with that happening.

Grandfather was also involved heavily in the Arms Collectors Association, and is now the president of the State Arms Collectors Association.
(I won't list the state). So he's directly involved in the 'legal' distribution side of firearms, and the complications that come with that.

I guess the point i'm making is, there's a lot more involved with USING said gun, than there is with buying/carrying one, and saying "Nobody is stealing my things. I have a gun. I'll just shoot them, it's simple".
There's a SLEW of legalities involved, with most people thinking they can just utilize their firearm as a 'tool to solve their inconveniences'.

Sadly, I feel the processes of obtaining firearms & concealed carry permits serve a major injustice to the people who try to do it correctly, because there is a severe lack of legal training/instruction involved with carrying a firearm. Which is not only slightly concerning, but also quite obvious. I would argue that 90% of people who WOULD use their firearm don't actually understand when they're legally obligated to use deadly-force.

Unfortunately for your statement, vehicle security does not justify murder, unless said security involves yourself being in direct danger.

So school shootings and Las Vegas type massacres across this country is garbage? So are you referring to our innocent women and children killed in these situations as Garbage? I have to stop this now. This infuriates me. I'd die to save the life of any American child. No more replies from me on this sensitive subject. I'm sorry. God bless America. We know the way in those very words. We just need to heed them. Let go and let God.

Let go and let God have his way in your life, and he will bless you exceedingly, abundantly, above all that you can ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).
