The original tail lights for my 2002 Wrangler TJ were starting to fall apart so I decided to get a set of more modern looking LED modules. These were really bright and came with an EU variant with amber indicators.
the only issue was the instructions which came with them are for the US variant only. EU variant has an extra cable and different colours
Function : Loom Cable = Tail Light
Indicators : Black/Red = Yellow
Reverse : Purple = Blue
Runnin Light : Yellow = Red
Brake : White = Green
Ground : = Black
Once these were all hooked up my next issue was the hyper flashing, I changed the indicator relay in the steering columns for LM470 Light Control Module. *at first they turn signal mode worked just fine but the hazard mode was hyper flashing even faster than before and making a clicking noise, after around 5 minutes of using the lights with the engine on the hazards seemed to have found their timing and work just as normal now, not sure that it was but they are operating flawlessly all afternoon now.

Honestly, I would have just bought new original EURO housings and just replaced the incandescent bulbs with the brighter LED bulbs.

super cool, just wish there was a version of these which was road legal in this country

The tail lights you've fitted have a smoked reflector around the lens. Unless you fit extra non smoked reflectors on the rear of your Jeep you would be in breach of construction and use regulations. Probably not a big issue unless you get a traffic cop behind you who's having a bad day.

yeah I will wait and see, it got thought MOT, I used to have the reflectors on my original tail lights smoked too. but the same thing happened with my tinted windows, no issues for years then got pulled over one evening.

The aluminum ones and relo plate on the way, if tracking is correct they come in Friday. Removed both tail lights and was even able to get the P/S one without removing the evap canister. Did have to go from below to free it up enough to go out the back.

I have the proper flasher coming in, where is it on the vehicle? I see what looks like a flasher behind the glove box, but I thought I read on an 05 it is on the steering column area?

I installed the same ones in the OP 1-2 years ago

Aside from the bolt stems needing to be bolted from inside each fender well, these are nice, bright, and reasonably priced Vs many competitors $$$$ asking prices.

The install is just not idiot basic. However, anyone with DIY skills and basic tools can make it happen
