Time for a v8 swap

I’d at least look into that shallower pan, looks like it nets 1.05” of clearance, that’s quite a bit. That break in the front of the skid that you’re taking about cutting off adds a lot of strength to it.

I agree that cutting the edge off the skid isn't a great idea..... But in my case I didn't have any other choice. I don't know if there is anything to be done to mitigate the cut either. Short of running a closer to stock skid plate it's what it is.

Oh I'm dumb ok I thought it was just sticking out like that

The size of the transmission pan is why I couldn't use one of the other types of engine skids with the edges bent up as they were hitting the trans pan. The Skid Row engine skid fits.

The engine skid helps. If it bends or you're worried about it bending I'd put a transverse rib on the engine skid in front of the tranny pan.
I'd probably wait unit it bent or you had the engine skid off anyways. Good chance it'll be fine like it is.

I'm of the mind to wait... The engine skid has bent once already but I straightened it and added extra angle to the sides to try & help it not bend.

The center skid doesn't have any extra bracing but with the way things are laid out there really isn't mush I could do to add any without interference with other parts.

It took a couple attempts but I got a nice tight fitment on the skid plate. Some of the mounting holes also had to be dremeled out due to 5/8 bolts being used. Waiting on the atlas transmission mount to get it all button up than onto tub/ transfer case clearancing.

Finally recieved the transmission mount setup from advanced adapters. After mocking everything up this big bar looks like it might be too high and I might just be able to drill the skidplate for the transmission mount to bolt directly too it. Im going to verify my 6.5 negative angle and fine tune it using the transmission mount. The atlas transfer case fitment looks like its going to be fun and quiet possible require a hammer but as shall see.

So it looks like the bracket for the mount is directly drilled into the skidplate, at this point the location of the mount will be right past the factory one and on the edge of the support beam. It looks like im going to get crafty with my welder and make it work.

Not sure how or if or even if you'd want to but is there a reason to keep the rubber bushing when you've got the bushing from the AA mount also? If you lost it would it allow you to lower the rear or change where things mount?

I've got the AA motor mounts & then a GR crossmember on my Hemi and I don't get any vibrations is why I'm asking. And I'd read all the comments from people about getting them if not using rubber bushings and stuff so I was worried.

I really don't see the need for the bushings ontop of having a transmission mount but I could be wrong. If I have use that bar im going to have to cut that support brace out. Im going to reach out to AA and see what they say.

Advanced adapters is closed for the holidays so i did some research and found some examples of what others did on their builds. It looks like they just mounted the transmission mount directly to the skid plate without using the big bracket. I really dont see getting any vibration issues unless my angle is off

I don't see the need for both of them. But yes contacting AA would be the best option just to make sure. I know I've had to make my mounts work with what I had at the time. I'm glad I went to a transmission crossmember so I can drop the skid plate and not have to support the engine/transmission when I do.

I also dont know if it matters that im not using advanced adapters engine mounts either maybe they sit higher and would allow for the bracket, I have the holley dark horse mounts that weld onto the factory ears.

Still no response so im going to take matters into my own hands. Im going to tack this all together and than bolt the skid plate back up and see how everything sits. Looking at how that AA bracket sits id either need to do a 1in transfer case drop or 2in body lift , nether of which id like to do.
