The Silver Fox LJ Build

I got the rear frame tuck done. I’m just painting it now. Now I’m wondering, should I move the upper perches next? Or should I do the raised body mounts? Either way I’m not putting the gas tank back in until I’ve done all this. The last thing I’ll do is outboard. Some pics from the process. Grinding gets old!

Concerning the evap canister delete in the ‘04 where it’s in the rear wheel well, do I connect the red tube that goes into the canister to where the white tube goes into the purge valve?

Did you end up adding a fish plate?

Wow, those look so different.. do you have to deflate to get out of the garage? :D

Yes. I added 1/4” fishplate on the inside of the frame like you suggested. 🙂 I also put two 1/2” holes in the fishplate for spot welds. The drivers side is super close to the gas tank skid, so I slotted the gas tank skid holes so I could fudge it toward the passenger side when I reinstall it.

Thanks for all the advice and pics Matt!

I still have a couple of inches clearance so I can get in and out of the garage!

Here’s one of the fishplates.

Great work as always Jeremy! I know we discussed via text, but I really think now would be a great time for a stronger GTS. It's going to get more use with the tucked frame.

That said, I haven't kept up with the market, the problem is there may not be a good GTS available at the moment!

The fuel pump is a newer Delphi so shouldn't be any worries there I would think.

I’m throwing a lot of money at it right now. I’m going to watch the gas tank skid and see when and if I need it Maximus!

I still have a question when I go to reinstall it. I’m not sure I’ll be able to get it up as high as I’d like. Not sure there’s room. If I could move the farthest back evap line I could do it. There are four lines on 4 clips running across the back of the tank IIRC. Really just need to move that 1. I’m still thinking about solutions so I can tuck it up as far as possible. If I can it will be 1.25” higher than it was before.
