So I just sold some of my surplus equipment and added a chunk of money into my FU account. I’m going to use some of that to get a SwayLoc for the TJ. I have JKS clone disconnects now and they are a pain to put back on for street use. I have a few questions on installation and maintenance procedures and installation for the SwayLoc. I saw a YouTube video where the guy was saying that he frequently has to replace some plastic bushings on his LK. It looked like a DD and I put less than 5K a yr. What type of maintenance is needed on the SwayLoc?
I need to remove my bumper to paint it and I don’t think my after market bumper will interfere. I saw a previous post where Mr Blain suggested using threaded rod to pull the pieces together. What other tips do you have? I know the SwayLoc is pricy but who tends to have it at the lowest price? Also while I have the bumper off I’m going to reroute the winch wires. The PO have them going through a factory hole and it’s too small with no grommet and I’m afraid they’ll wear through and short out. How did you route yours?
Next FU money goes to some good off road lights and possibly a lift for the shop.

I added a SwayLoc about 3 years ago; one of the best things I've done to the TJ - I think you're going to be pleased. Installation was pretty easy. I personally didn't need anything special to get it through the crossmember or pull the pieces together; used a rubber mallet to tap it through and everything mated up nicely. I drive my TJ roughly 5k miles/year and I've greased it once or twice just as a precaution, but haven't needed to do anything else. Can't help with the winch wiring as that didn't apply to me. I've got an OEM front bumper and had to notch it a touch to clearance the arms. Install info here: https://wranglertjforum.com/threads/evolution-of-davecs-2006-se-4-0.18341/post-1451202

I shopped Summit Racing, Poly Performance and Northridge 4x4. Poly had a 10% or 15% off coupon and had it on backorder. Northridge 4x4 had it in stock, matched Poly's discounted price and shipped the next day.

I love mine,we couldn’t have had the tent and rack on without it,the thing is more solid than the factory bar.i adapted curry flat tow points on mine.i caught quadratec with a false low low price, told everyone on here and a lot of members got a killer deal on a back order.

The only maintenance I have done to my SL after 5-6 years and lots of miles is to replace the links. But only because of the unique situation that my 12" shock travel exceeded the range of motion of the supplied rod ends.

I luckily found mine used but with new replacement links. One of my favorite mods. It installed in about 15 minutes, but again it was used and had been installed before.

I have a body lift and went under the grille with my wires.

That’s great!I have a b/l too but I had to do a warn raised plate so I would have a flat front surface to mount in all the flat tow stuff.i don’t like that it really covers the airflow little.but I also wanted the bar that mount to it,so im living with it.

Follow @mrblaine 's advice. I didn't and it didn't quite come together all the way. I called ORO and they said since I Have a modest lift (3") that I'd be fine. My only negative about SWayloc is the lever gets bound up if you are in very silty water or mud. I carry a spray bottle with me to rinse it off if I get into much mud.

The only maintenance I do is grease it annually. I love them.

A lot of that depends on the tube the bushings are being smacked into. Some of them are easy, some of them are a fight. We've installed many Anti-Rock bushings and learned over time to round off the corners at the ends of the flat spot. Otherwise, big curls of plastic would get peeled up and make a mess. We found more of them to be a problem than not.

Been doing some online perusing. Looks like most places drop-ship from the Mn factory. $799 is the lowest price before any discounts. Some offer 5% on first order with sign up. Only real discount is shipping. SawLoc wants $100 some others $18 and some free. I’m getting out of stock at some places. Some say it won’t fit my LJ. It’s confusing. I’m in no hurry my next outing is a 5 day trek in the Mojave end of Jan. I hope to have some new lights when I’m running the desert at night. My favorite thing to do.
There are some interesting YouTube videos where I’m seeing what not to do, otherwise install looks straight forward. Only replaceable parts I see online are the link end swivels.

When I did my anti-rock years ago, I did as Blaine said and chamfered the holes a bit and tapered the edge of the bushing to let it start smoothly. My SwayLoc's went in with a couple smacks of a dead blow hammer and a chunk of wood.
