Looking to replace the transfer case skid plate on my ‘06 LJ. It’s taken quite a few hits over the years and it’s time for a new one. I’m not interested in a tummy tuck or an aftermarket skid that requires a lot of mods. Are there any brands that the board suggests? Made In USA preferred.

Undercover Fab offers a tcase skids that doesn't require a body lift. I've installed their skids on three of my rigs with no issues.

Barnes has a steel one. Plenty of folks make em. Personally if you're not interested in mods just find a less molested one at a junkyard.

I’ll check out Barnes. Thanks. In my younger years I’d be all over the junkyards looking for a deal. These days ,for good or bad I have more money than time. lol.

Yea. Been there brother.
Looks like the Barnes is discontinued.
I think I’m going with the UCF skid. Any more suggestions?

Barnes will build if you call. Called 2 weeks ago. They built and shipped one same day on request for a buddies project.

I installed Barnes last year and have landed on it several times now without issues. pretty stout but heavy. it is very budget friendly, just call them and they will make it for you

Mine just arrived too!

Whatcha going to paint it with?

Too cold for paint... probably throwing mine on bare... although it would fit in my outhouse...I've used that to hang parts to dry with a space heater.

Aluminum? Very cool.
I was surprised it wasn’t delivered in a box. I get it now that I see it
I’m more surprised that ups didn’t figure out a way to break it 😃

I have the Barnes in my TJR. It lifts the TC maybe 3/4 inch. That 3/4 inch in addition to a 2.5 inch spring lift was enough to require installation of a DC driveshaft.

According to UCF one too many fell out of the box or packaging so they just started slapping labels on 'em.

If UPS can kill a skid plate then it ain't gonna survive Moab. Maybe I should put UPS tested and approved on it!
