I know that this isn’t an ideal amount of space between the spare and the tailgate, but I am wondering if it will be okay after extending the bump stops. Tire is a 33x10,weighs probably 50-60 lbs.

I'd be concerned about the additional strain on the tailgate hanging weight out that far, a couple of good ruts or bumps with the stock setup could mess it it up. Just replaced my tailgate that had a lovely inward curve and twist from repeated closures with a stock rim and spare tire weight.

Thanks for the input. I reckon I’ll just lay it flat in the back of the tub.

I ran a 33x10 spare with a bracket that lifted it up and out slightly for 6-8 years. It wasn't as severe as your current setup, but the tire did not sit against the snubbers. Put at least 50k miles on it. The tailgate had no damage. The factory part of the tire carrier had some distortion. Pretty sure it was a terraflex product similar to this

Eventually switched out to the OR Fab body mounted swingout (RIP OR Fab) so I could carry spare fuel.

I had mine extended with spacers and snubbers, not quite as far as yours, a few years back and smacked it on a ledge. Bent the mount (not a big deal), but also dented in the tailgate a bit (sucks). I would recommend getting it as close to the tailgate as possible.
