If it were up to me I wouldn't pay the Woman US Soccer Team jack shit.

Lol so if they lowered the pay of the men to the exact pay of the women would they still be upset???? probably. I dont think its a gender issue more of a "i want what you have" issue. I hear how women may get paid less than a man in a specific job but for so many statements we are not see specific companies listed and specific employees. Just seems odd but if we do use the MLS as the prime example then the women are paid fair.
Not to insult anyone on this subject but i would be up for comparing facts that support a pay gap not just "women get paid less in the same job" what job. Compared to who.

These players are basically hustling to earn spons and bonuses if your on the bench lazy and just filling a spot then of course you will get paid less. If your the #1 stud and filling stadiums and making huge profits of sponsor ships your probably going to make more than some men heck maybe one day be paid more than any man. Its very possible.

Its impossible to offer the EXACT same deal is the point. There is no pay average to compare.

The only point I can see that there is to argue is that they don't elaborate on the "second" job aspect of the men vs women. I'm not saying one or the other is right, simply that the men don't need the benefits, because they already have a "job" with a MLS club. The women are using the national team as their primary employer. So, Grand scheme, they probably are making less...But that is like saying Johnny makes more money than me and works two jobs. Duh...Of course Johnny makes more...he's working harder.
I don't know enough about soccer to know if the women would have that extra opportunity...but then again, the case wasn't about that.

The video is focused on one thing. Their other jobs and incomes aren't relevant. Some of these women have Nike contracts, I bet some of the men don't. So all you can compare is the package offerings of the USA cup organization to these team members.
Right. And that is what the judge ruled on. I was just simply making an observation on something I thought might be an interesting addition to the story.
True and I thought the same thing but that's not what these women have been fighting about.
I also found it interesting they were so happy to get the deal and then shortly thereafter wanted more. They have a damned good deal. And the guys suck so they'll never do as good.
LeBron James should share his pay with the women of the WNBA. Yeah that won't happen.
I played Collegiate Soccer.
If I knew then what I know now, I'd have self-identified as a woman and played for the WNT and made more money than the MNT.
Some people will never get it.
No matter how you cut it, the women got paid more and they still want more.
The more important lesson here is, if you don't understand this video, you don't understand women.

EDIT: And any knowledgeable male knows why they chose that benefits package; it gives more stability, income is not based on performance, even though the WNT has far out-performed the men's team. Women like stability, and risk is not a general characteristic.
