I know this is looong.Yall may remember my Jeep shut down on hwy a few weeks back after a Napa fuel pump put in and would not restart no check engine and no codes. Got it towed to mechanic and it cranked up the next day. Jeep has been at mechanic for a few weeks since I started repairing the frame in his shop. The jeep has been cranked and moved about the shop within these weeks.
So I ordered a Delphi pump, Crank shaft position sensor, and doing the cooling system from Chris's write up.
Today I drove it around town to empty some gas to make it easy to drop the tank, after an hr of driving it stalls no warning. I didnt have my reader with me to check for engine temp but the gauge showed a bit over 220. I sat for about 45 min to cool the engine and could not get it to start. It would almost start but stutter and die. I think it may start after sitting for awhile more but towed it back to the mechanic.
After doing the cooling system ,Crankshaft position sensor and Delphi pump what else should I be looking at. I know that's alot to read but harder to type on my phone with these sausage fingers!

So.... did you already replace the CKPS ?
IF not... while the engine wont start; try pouring a little cool water on the CKPS and try starting the engine.
I didnt try that. It has been at the mechanics for a couple hrs know, I am at home. My bet is it will start if I went up there.

Once the CKPS cools the Hall Effect sensor starts working again.
Thanks. I am glad I know that know. Will probably come in handy in the future. So There is a chance the new Napco (switching it anyway)pump didnt fail and the CKPS is just shot?

Doubt your new fuel pump failed, but if your replacing it anyways, look into a quality fuel pump and never think about it again. Try aeromotive. USA.

Trying to learn as much as I can. What makes you think my pump didnt go, is it because it cranked the next day last time?

I’m just doubting the new pump failed. I know it can happen, but that’s seems awful quick if it did fail. I just pushed aeromotive because of their quality and you said your replacing it anyways.
