Savvy cable shifter

I live in California so rust isn’t an issue here lol I do want that Barnes skid along with the oil pan skid! First steps are complete, skid removed and junk shifter removed, just need to install the savvy now, will do that later this afternoon/tomorrow

I like the washer idea. Mine will never see winter in new england under my ownership so I am not going to do this, but if I was driving it thru the salt and crap, I would absolutely do this and pressure wash thru there every chance I got.

Do it anyway. Mine never saw salt either, yet was rusty there - its a water trap.

We don't use salt like New England in CO. In my case I'm pretty sure the sprinkler next to our driveway was getting water in the pockets in the skid at the nutcerts and then hold it. Not sure about my Dad's. It is parked on the middle spot of his driveway, so not the same issue. He drove it to work in winter for a while before retiring many years ago, but we just don't use salt that much. Keep an eye on it, Putting a tiny air gap between skid and frame is cheap and easy insurance.
