I think he means that 4 nuts are above the bumper inside the winch footplate
Socially acceptable wiring but you don't have any over current protection...no fuse or disconnect.
Your six year old battery might not be happy with high amp winch pulls.
And you might want to consider milspec battery terminals. And new cables for the rest of that TJ. The little corrosion I can see is problematic.

I have never had OCP on mine either. If one were to add any, then it ought to be sized correctly based on some set of criteria. Warn is no help on this.
The circuit breakers in your electrical panel at home are called over-current protection devices.
If it existed, it would be visible on the positive cable coming from the battery. And Warn would sell replacements.
Well the damn air compressor fuse keeps blowing at the most inconvenient times (when I’m using it) so it’s probably great that the winch doesn’t mess with all that Oral Contraceptive Pill garbage.

I don't know why there isn't a fuse or breaker on a winch. I also do not know how to appropriately size one for a winch. Warn would, but they don't.
