Since I have had the TJ, we have had two hard rains. Both times the passenger floorboard filled up. No water intrusion anywhere else.

It is not a plugged cowl drain.

The door gaskets are new and tight.

I suspect the windshield gasket.

The windshield needs replacing anyway, I was hoping to wait until summer.

I may as well do the hardtop gasket as well.

I guess the PO never noticed the leak, after all, it hardly rains in Florida.

Opening the cowl was not a bust, at least I know that there are no issues there, and I found the driver wiper arm was broke and barely hanging on.

Mine wasn’t the cowl drain, rather the foam seal for the fresh air intake had erroded and water was getting in under neath it. Some flex seal and waterproof caulk sealed it back up.

Here is a thread I started about a similar problem. Maybe helpful.

Well, I overlooked the fact that mine was AC related and yours is rain related.

Do you have full doors? My soft uppers fill with water, and eventually drip to the floor. Thread about it here.

Mine does the same thing, I have gap right in the middle of my lower windshield gasket, I am thinking its to blame. I need to take Mac's advise and put some rtv or silicon in there and see if stops.

We are supposed to get a blow tomorrow morning. Most of the schools have closed. I went out tonight and put a piece of gorilla tape over the gap. Lets see if that makes a difference.

Have someone sit inside the Jeep and watch for water coming in while you hit the different areas you suspect of being the source of the leak with a garden hose. That's how I typically do it.

I will have to pull the cowl back off and check that.

It drizzled all day yesterday and the interior was bone dry this morning.

When it rains hard, the passenger footwell fills up.

I ran the hose on the top seal, windshield glass seal, door seals and windshield frame seal today. No water intrusion.

I am going to pull the cowl back off and put butyl tape around the airbox to cowl seam.

If that does not cure the problem, I don't know where to look next.
