Starting to sand the entire rig, hopefully in paint within a weekend or two!

Good job. I do mine a final primer coat before I introduce the top coat. This way the primer just freshly flushed before it meets the color coat. What's the top coat color you decided?

Looking very good! Tough lesson to learn, but a good one. Reckon he’s learned a thing or 1,000 about body work

I’m going back with original patriot blue, it’s just easier.

I'm sure he has and about a month before he gets some finger prints back too hehe...

Nice work on the re-build though....better than new

It’s damn strait!! Except for the front fenders, which I didn’t kill myself on as they’re being replaced with tire fenders in the fall.

I finally got the body right, I bought $720 worth of ppg paint products, turned the garage into a paint booth, even built a paint rack. I woke up bright and early this morning, spent 4 hrs masking and prepping the Jeep only to have my primer sealer FISH EYE!! Fish eye everywhere!![emoji35][emoji35] time to sand it down, figure out where my contaminant is, and give it another go. Unfortunately family vacation begins next week and there is no time[emoji22]I guess this will be my first summer without my Jeep, in 14 yes.

Nooooo !! I feel for ya, nothing worse than doing all then prep and then that happening to your paint finish....so was it grease or oil or something?

That is not grease, it's air bubble. You sprayed the first pass too thick. Do not be in a hurry for the colored paint. Just give it a mist, a very even mist that you can still see the primer through it. then wait for 45 min. to an hour (max), then go for the next mist coat.

Actually that was my primer sealer. After that I shot a few spots on other areas on the Jeep. It’s the entire Jeep which leads me o believe it’s the tar, wax & grease remover I used to prep before paint.

Wax and grease remover is designed to float the contaminants to the surface. It's important to use clean, lint free disposable towels. wipe on wet, and remove wet with a 2nd clean towel. Don't be shy with the towels. Remember, you're trying to remove the contaminants from the surface, not smear them around.
