Piss & Moan Table

I can kill the ants - the mound I treat dies - but then they crop up somewhere else. I suspect a "super colony" underlying my entire lawn.

Yeah, it’s always a game of whack-a-mole with fire ants. Amdro is supposed to kill the queen so the colony dies. The stuff works but I’ve never been able to fully get rid of ants in the yard. I suspect I chase them out of my yard, then after a while the neighbors chase them out of their yards, and they move back into mine.

Damn fire ants are completely out of control this year. May need to call in the professionals on this one...

does your state control permethrin by requiring a license to buy it? that shit kills ants quite quickly. if its a licensed product, get a farmer to get it from the farm supply shop, they dont need the license, (im a licensed pest control provider)

I took my youngest on a college tour last week in the south (yeah, she hates the PNW too). We flew into Atlanta and rented a car from Avis. Avis guy said my rental was an all electric. I politely declined, told the guy we were driving over a thousand miles in a week, and requested an ICE car to make the trip easier. Avis guy agreed that it would be a painful trip in an electric, but I'd rented an intermediate car and the electric car met my rental reservation. Avis guy said he had no other intermediate or smaller ice cars available, but I could upgrade (with a significant cost increase to a bigger/better rental). After a wtf over conversation, Avis guy reduced the price, and I had to pay a little more for an Equinox. Nothing like dealing with a terrorist without a gun when he's got you over a barrel. On the plus side, I'm going to have a Gator in the family next year.

I rent several cars a year. Hertz and Avis only care about corporate accounts and are always priced higher than the rest. I belong to National, Budget, Enterprise and Thrifty rental loyalty programs. 9 times out of 10 I get an upgraded car at no charge. I just rented an economy car on Kauai through Thrifty and they upgraded me a no cost to an SUV. I chose an Explorer. For out of country rentals I’ve found Sixt to be the overall best.
I have a rental car rider on my insurance and 2 of my CC offer coverage if I reserve and pay with their cards.

Hertz is almost always cheaper for me than National using company programs on each and at the highest status on each. My company wants me to use national but personal travel I use Hertz due to the cost savings.

I see the muscles in you back and neck tightening up and a trip to the Dr. Added pain an suffering payment in the future to help pay for a replacement car.

That reminds me of the motorcycle accident I had back in 2021. Single vehicle accident, front wheel locked up suddenly at 25 MPH and high sided me to the pavement. A 28 day stay the hospital delayed my ability to handle the claim quickly.

My insurance company was State Farm, and they were giving me the run around. Every time I called to ask a question, I was given a different answer. I had full coverage for collision, plus riding gear, minus a deductable.

I wasn't in a hurry to settle the claim, and my claim was 90 days old. It seems the PA insurance commission monitors these thing. Once it went over 90 days, State Farm did a 180 in their decisions. I had checks for full payment in 48 hours.

I got a call from Geico Insurance (guy's Insurance that hit me) they totaled the 2021 Altima SL due to the amount of damage.

Geico has treated me fine, paying for a rental car until April 14th, and now sending me a check for more then what they say online my car is worth.

Now I need to decide if I buy a new or a used car. Do I take the chance of playing bumper cars again with a new car? People drive awful down here in Florida.

If I get a new car my insurance will go up. Then the minute I drive off the lot the depreciation hits.

I know whatever I choose I'll regret my decision, that always happens.

All the cool people in Florida drive these, I'd buy used. since you have other vehicles if something breaks.

If it's not suffering rust, that's actually one hell of a chariot there. Probably still smells like the day it rolled of the assembly line inside as well...

I knew it was going to good, I get a call from Geico come to find out he only has 10k in coverage. They are going to take the cost of the rental out of the 10k. I end up getting screwed.

So now what. Your insurance covers the rest and your rate goes up? Or you have to sue the guy (who is probably broke)
