I did what @macleanflood did and cut the exhaust in front of the skid and put a clamp on it. Now I can remove it anytime. Granted, you still have manifold bolts and O2 sensors to remove.

Ok cool, do you know what size the pipe is in that section? I was finally able to remove the manifold bolts and I'm about to cut the pipe. I'll buy a clamp for it later today.

Rear cat and back is 2.25, headers to rear cat should be 2.5" diameter. No idea why Jeep did that. I just put the clamp on my front pipe when I replaced my oil pan. It worked out well.
