Cd player in my oem radio for my 05 TJ crapped out. Since my ride is basically used for open mountain climbing, I don’t need a fancy aftermarket unit. So, hopefully will find working oem unit.
QUESTION IS — won’t I need some sort of unlock code if I find one?
If so, what if seller doesn’t have it?
Is there a way to get oem unit to display its code before removal?

I threw away my working oem stereo. You'd be better off spending under $100 for a new one.

This came out of my '06 — OEM AM/FM radio + CD player.

build sheet:

• AM/FM Compact Disc Radio w/Chgr Ctrl
• 4 Speakers

It's yours if you want it (no wiring harness) - just hit me with the shipping. 😉

Let me know.

Too high tech. @Zorba (and RFK JR,) warned me about people like you. ;)
p.s. Fight the good fight Zorba.
I never did see the point of phone BT for music. I just use "Geek Sticks" for my music - completely free aside from the minimal cost of buying a few Geek Sticks in the first place. But I guess streaming music via an expensive online data plan (and online subscription?) is considered better. I'd at least plug the phone into the stereo so I didn't shorten the already abysmally short battery life. *shrug*

Doesn't make sense to me, but not much does when it comes to these devices. Everybody's life seems to revolve around their PHOOOOOONNE!!
