Got this 120k mile '02 4.0/5spd TJ in March, did all the usual maintenance things to freshen it up. Getting the injectors cleaned soon. Just wondering if the 21 year old O2 sensors should be replaced just because due to age/miles or run them until I get a code. Never had a 4.0 Jeep for reference on how it should run. Getting 15-17 mpg on 33s & 4.10s. It seems like it runs a bit coarse but again no frame of reference. Thanks.

Do you like kicking hornet nests?
😂
Don’t even wiggle the damned wires IMO!
X2! :ROFLMAO: There are some items where routine preventive maintenance is a good idea, mainly with lubricants. But yeah where O2 sensors are concerned if they're woking don't mess with them. My current O2 sensors were replaced by the previous owner maybe 15 years ago trying to fix a problem that proved not to have been caused by them at all. Replacing the pre-catalytic converters fixed that problem and the same O2 sensors were reinstalled and they're still working fine. On gizmos like O2 sensors yeah it's better to not kick sleeping dogs lol.

Good to know thanks. That's $150 I can spend on something else for the Jeep. Don't tell. (y)

I'll add O2 voltages to my Torque dashboard. Should you never see over 0.9V, or while at idle or running or ?
