Wow! Pretty crazy timing! Almost feels like a publicity stunt executed by Sharon.

Definitely a rock/metal legend! One of the first 10 rock albums I bought was Speak of the Devil. Got it back in the vinyl days on Columbia House. My mom let me pick 3 albums and that was one. Partially picked because it's a double album. Also included Rush, Permanent Waves, which is still one of my favorite albums of all time.

Figure he was against the odds with all the drugs he took. Pretty amazing that he lived that long, Him and Keith Richards are scientific anomalies.

Glad I got to see him live at an Ozzfest many years ago.

It definitely was a sympathy play. I suspect they knew his time was running out. I saw a YouTube video from that concert (I think it was in Birmingham, UK) a week or so back. Not good. Not good at all. Ozzy was seated in a thrown-like chair (probably couldn't stand) and his timing and tuning were off badly. He seemed a complete wreck, but I only watched about 30 seconds since it was so bad. Good for him though. He was a heck of a showman!

He had Parkison's. Sharon said his voice is not affected, but I agree with you.

My wife's question is a good one: Was it assisted/planned suicide? No cause of death listed.

I remember my grandfather who was born in the 20s, and was mostly into classical music, one time in what must have been the 90s, he puts on the OG Black Sabbath album at a family gathering after some Tchaikovsky or Mozart or something. He just switches right to this crazy psychedelic death rock. It was 20 years old at the time but I’d never heard it. My mind was blown; I immediately assumed it registered at the same level of legendary status as the classical greats.
