New Wizard / BMB tail lights?

You mean, like this? This specific one is crap (the red portion has circular pattern LEDs and nowhere as good in terms of brightness), but showing this just to make sure I'm understanding what you are saying..

I think this one won't look very good in the mode where the rear lights are on + blinking. You need to make the amber really bright to make it clearly visible against the red and it is very fatiguing for the people following you. I see it in some modern cars and I hate sitting behind them at night time.

Like this. The very poorly drawn circles are the diodes as they already are, the amber window would be wired to a separate power wire that could be turns only. Could even do it 2 rows and 2 rows, but I feel like brakes are more important than turns and amber usually stands out above red so I don't think as much would be needed.

Like I said though, it's not something that exists (that I've found) and it's probably not worth making a one-off product when very few would want to do the mods to make it work (would need to split the turn signals from the brakes at the turn signal switch, and then use the third brake signal to power all three brake lights. And would need a trailer converter for towing. It's really just me idealizing, I doubt anything like this will ever happen.

If something like this were to occur, I would probably run 2 amber upper side markers (turn only) and 2 lower red side markers (running lamp only, no brake).

The latch lever inside the connector has to move to disengage. Dust gets packed in above and below it so it can't move. The air blows out the packed dust and allows the lever to move.

good to know I never would have thought about trying that

Do you have to cut a hole in the license plate?for the light?it looks like it on the pic.

No, push the light bracket up to the lip on the plate carrier. Push the license plate down to center its holes on the fasteners. That gives you just enough room to sneak the wires over the top of the plate and straight out the back of the plate carrier which is recessed and won't pinch the wires. His pic is not showing the top of the light bracket very well.

Nice

@mrblaine The mailman just dropped off my lights and I opened them like a kid at Christmas. Overkill on the housings but I really like overkill. I have never used the uninsulated butt connectors but I think I already like them better than everything I already have including a Klein ratcheting crimper. Can you recommend a crimper and a source for more connectors? I hope to be using them exclusively, I already have a lifetime supply of various sizes of heat shrink.

These look pretty interesting. Enough so that I may snag a pair.

I thought that's what you've used for years? I've had that one since 2021, it works fantastically well. It is my #1 crimper no doubt. Paired with the Del City barrel terminals (and probably that place you mentioned the other day too), I couldn't imagine a better crimp.

Look closer, it is a double staking plier.

I don't see anything different - at the top it tells me it is what I purchased in 2021 which is what I thought is what you've been using.

For reference, the link takes me to the WT111M by Thomas and Betts.

All of mine are like this with a non staking section for insulated terminals.

Interesting. When we discussed this a while back, it might have been that you said something along the lines of "Thomas and Betts crimper" and I assumed the one I bought that you just linked was the one you were using.

I have the one in the link and can confirm, it works very well. The stake closer to the snips is for Sta-kon "A" and "B" terminals which it defines as 20-18Ga and 16-14Ga if I remember right. The larger stake further away is for "C" terminals which I believe 12-10Ga. It crimps very solidly. Regardless of all that, I use the red white and blue terminals in the small spot, and the yellow ones in the big spot. It works perfectly.

The snip also cuts wires very well. Excellent tool.
