Hello all, so excited to be a Jeep owner and joining this community. The Jeep we purchased is completely stock and garage kept. I'm interested in getting some advice about lifting the Jeep and will also increase the stock tire size. I'm not looking to compete at the Jeep fest rally's just want it to look like a Jeep and not a car.(it's sooo low). Most of our time will be driving on dirt roads in North Ga, Tennessee and North Carolina and doing some (basic) trails. I would like to hear about brands, reliability, for anywhere from 1" to 3.5" lifts plus the increased tire size. Thanks in advance

Congrats! We love pics of Jeeps so definitely show us your new rig! What size tires are you looking to run, and what kind of trails or off-roading will you be doing (if any)?

You mentioned your Jeep is slow, which engine and transmission do you have? This info can help us give recommendations based on your needs.

Not slow - soooo low 😊

I really am a fan of “don’t do a thing until you really know a lot “ thinking -

Why? Too many ways to go down the wrong hole-

Yeah I definitely read the OP too quickly lol. I agree though. My TJ sees mostly dirt roads and daily driving in summer. I've owned several lifted Jeeps previous to this one, mostly XJs with 33's. My TJ has only 1" lift (H&R springs) and 31s and it drives perfect for what I need while looking just slightly higher than stock. Also something to note, the higher you go with the lift and the larger the tires, the more "stuff" you need (driveshafts, control arms, adjustable track bars, longer brake lines, etc).

So true Ive got a lifted LJ on 35’s, built like a champ- and a tj on 33’s with a micro lift

The TJ will do all I have the nerve to tackle -

The LJ brings more stability on taller obstacles in some cases.

I’m of the opinion a large portion of off the shelf lifts make rigs worse and many just break even.

When you get over into really well built rigs, like Blaine’s world, those guys know how to make jeeps do more and hold together doing it.

+1

My first Jeep mistake back in the day was an off the shelf Rough Country lift... which slowly turned into a mix of OME and other parts over time, and it rode like a totally different vehicle. Cheap vs. expensive lift parts are the difference between a Jeep that drives well on the street, and one that you have to fight the entire time and is exhausting to drive more than 30 minutes.

Been there and got the crappy t shirt. The white rig is ome, ucf and clayton.

Most knowledge cost money.
