Haha man we are on the same page! While you have the front axle out, you might want to consider adding the black magic brakes sway bar link brackets and do a tie rod flip.
Nice welds, looks like pulsating setting. Is your welder is a ESAB product or what brand/model ?Good day working on the Jeep! Started by getting the rear end on jack stands and pulled the rear axle out. Plan on doing the rear first then moving to front. Lots of cutting and grinding but was able to remove the unneeded factory brackets off the frame and axle.View attachment 209934

Next I plan to cut the upper coil buckets off to relocate them. Then begins the tacking and welding!
Here’s a little bit of practice welding coupons... 1/4” to 1/8” trying to mock welding the Savvy brackets to the frame. I’d say I’ve got the setting just about dialed!

Thank you! I do take pride in my welding as it’s a skill I’ve spend a lot of time developing.Nice welds, looks like pulsating setting. Is your welder is a ESAB product or what brand/model ?
The savvy rear truss comes with a plate that bolts to the diff cover that locates the truss on top of the diff. I’m going completely off what they are recommending.Would there had been any benefit to turning the pinion up more when welding the brackets on? Pinion looks low, but could just be the camera angle.
Thanks! I’m happy how it’s coming togetherThose wheels (and the whole Jeep) are gorgeous
Schweet!First day of 2021 and the Jeep is back on its wheels! Couldn’t be happier with how it sits. Few more small details to button up before a shake down run. View attachment 214924
Thanks Chris!!Looks awesome man! Time for a new front bumper
I think that's the only thing I'd change.
Anytime! Shoot me a text or message. I took it for a drive around town today. Everything seems pretty solid. I may need a quick trip to west mountain for a close and quick first run.You knocked that out quickly! Either I need to stop by, or you need to drive it down here to my place so I can see it in real life!
I hear ya! We’ve all been in this boat before. The good news is that your progress so far is awesome! Thanks Chris!!
I know...the chopped front bumper is bringing down the looks. Unfortunately the Jeep budget is thin. The wife said no more parts until I finish our basement![]()
