Novak Conversions Jeep Wrangler TJ engine mounts
Been a busy summer. I have a pile of Flux Off road parts waiting to install.

Trail clean up for the VA4wda annual run at Oak Ridge Estates. Only pic I got but 2 white tj’s in their natural habitat.

There are still some spots left for this event. Same place they use to hold camp jeep in the early 2000’s. Mild trail riding with some rock obstacles here and there.

On the install list:
Flux corner armor
Flux rear bumper
Flux rear valance
Flux tailgate hinge

Deleting the spare for now using ORO license plate light with integrated plate light and brake light.

That's a healthy list of stuff to get done!

Heck I went to Camp Jeep there many years ago. IIRC Tim McGraw performed at the time. That Rock pile also looks a bit familiar but I’ve seen so many they all look the same.

We went to quite a few Camp Jeeps when they put them on and they were all awesome. Being a gEEk I really enjoyed the engineering round tables and the kids who were little at the time enjoyed the many activities.

My son has a pic of him between Tony Hawk and Shaun White as well as an autographed T-Shirt from them as they performed in a half pipe on skate boards. Can’t remember which Camp Jeeps that was but I’m sure my grown son still remembers LOL.

Would love to go back to VA and ride some trails there again at some point.

Thanks for sharing!

Some VA wheeling this weekend at the VA4wda annual trail run at Oak Ridge Estates.

Always a fun event with friends.

Take aways:
- Need to make some adjustments to the front end. Currie steering is contacting front track bar bolt and mount. May have bent it slightly at Rausch a few months ago.

- Front Driveshaft seems noisy on long uphill grades in 4wd. It may be contacting the shifter mount slightly at the CV.

- rear pass tire rubs enough at full stuff it’s starting to bend lower wheel corner slightly. Need to trim/adjust.

Jeep performed great all weekend otherwise.
Power steering cooler kept pump quiet. AC ran most of the weekend with no issues of overheating at mid 80s temps and humid. We had a WJ overheat Friday on a long climb.

Working on the corner armor, flux rear bumper, valance and hinges over the winter. Didn’t get to them before this event.

Onto a few of the pics.

One side of flux corner armor done. Working on the passenger side.

Starting on the drivers side I noticed the moryde setup was starting to dent my tub where the backing plate stop, just above the lower spot welds and torque box. I knew my tailgate was toast and was dented where the moryde stops there too.

This has really pushed me towards no spare even though I have the flux carrier and hinges already. May just run the hinges for now

I've thought about this for a while. Reinforcing the corners and tailgate with armor, along with HD hinges, largely mitigates the weight of the heavier tire. What it doesn't cover is the weight of the vehicle applied when dropping off a ledge and hitting the spare. Since I remove my rear seat when wheeling, next wheeling season I'm going to move my spare to inside the Jeep and see how that goes. I've had 3 flats when wheeling and really don't like the idea of patching tires. It takes a fair amount of time and makes me hesitant to wheel after that. Given the logistics of having to pack up and travel to wheel on the East Coast, I prefer having a spare.

The Jeep looks great BTW, and @Wildman is correct. A white Jeep, especially an LJ, just looks right! :)

The flux set up seems to allow the carrier to be removed fairly easily with 4 bolts. I’ll try and fit the spare in the back somehow but I usually trailer this so it’s a big deal.

Last time I cut a tire wheeling was when Crozet, VA off road park was still open.

Some progress being made on the parts install. Knocking out the install on some of these patiently waiting flux parts.

Need to finish up the rear valance and sand that to a finish that better matches the rest. Then work on the rear bumper and license plate situation.

Also work on some of the oxidation on the corners from sitting with the protective film half pulled off.

These hinges are a work of art!

Also really want to bring these tires in a bit. I think they are 4.55” backspacing with a 1.25” adapter.

I am thinking of new studs (if needed) and a .75 adapter from the company below.

Love how clean this looks. Is the panel below the tailgate from Fluxor?

Thanks! It’s been a long time coming to get to this point. Thanks for the inspiration!

It’s @Fluxor valance. You can get them with or without light cut outs. I have just about everything he makes for the LJ at this point lol.

Rear bumper next!

He makes some nice stuff... Wish he'd been making stuff when I'd started...

And your rig is coming along great BTW...

Just ordered my valance from him too, in prep to installing his corners. Quality projects all around.

Take your time is the best advice I have on this. I took my time and still would tweak a few things on my install that weren’t present until later. My driver side corner armor off slightly in the back which made the valance not as tight between the two pieces of corner armor. About an 1/8 and likely LJ problems along lack of experience doing corner armor install.

I read this thread a many others before installing the corner armor and still managed to not get quite perfect. Sharing in hopes it helps with your install.

Overall I’m happy with it and no turning back now!
