Colorado Krew Hangout

bit far for me

Someday I'd like to run trails in Grand Junction, but that looks too crowded for my taste!

I was pretty surprised how decent it was in Moab with 12+ rigs, I was pretty concerned it was going to be a really rough and long day. It helps that everyone had a pretty good build and a capable driver.

If anyone ever wants to wheel this way - I have access to a great spot to stay on top of Red Mtn. Pass between Silverton and Ouray. We’ve slept 30+ guys here, but groups of 12 or so are more comfortable. These are the only photos from the house I have on my phone at the moment. I’d totally be open to hosting a few days in the summer to run some San Juan trails and head on down to Montrose for some serious wheeling.

Guess I don’t have a ton of photos of the actual house on my phone - but these are all from the property.

I keep trying to convince my better half to do a jeeping trip through the area. Lake City -> Engineer Pass -> Ouray -> Black Bear Pass -> Telluride -> Imogene Pass -> probably head home.

Mine doesn't like jeeping, but she loves hitting those trails. The scenery is phenomenal.

Do you think they're gonna reopen black bear? I'm kinda just waiting for them to close it permanently. Closed for a while cos someone rolled off it, opened it back up, and someone rolls off it again within a couple weeks

Yeah, I’ll be surprised if Black Bear opens - but the talk is that it will. Not getting my hopes up. Imogene is a mess, but Ophir will open for those that are desperate to visit Telluride. Still plenty of trails to explore - I know of some great mines to get into and waterfalls to swim in that aren’t overrun by influencers as well. Realistically though, I want to hit some of the more technical stuff down the road towards Montrose eventually. Holy Cross is next on my list too for sometime this summer.
