Colorado Krew Hangout

Yeah, I’ll be surprised if Black Bear opens - but the talk is that it will. Not getting my hopes up. Imogene is a mess, but Ophir will open for those that are desperate to visit Telluride. Still plenty of trails to explore - I know of some great mines to get into and waterfalls to swim in that aren’t overrun by influencers as well. Realistically though, I want to hit some of the more technical stuff down the road towards Montrose eventually. Holy Cross is next on my list too for sometime this summer.

I want HC bad!

I'll have to get out as soon as it opens in case it never opens again after that ☹️

Black Bear is overrated. It’s more fun on a snowmobile. Telluride sucks unless you’re into paying too much and like hanging with a bunch of yuppies. Maybe I’m just bitter because I’m poor, lol.

That's how I felt about Ouray. Roads are all dirt roads but there were like 6 art galleries? Felt weird like a fake small town

I feel like Black Bear is just one of those You have to do it once kinds of trails. The only other time I was nearby the other guy was too nervous to drive it for some reason.

Everything over there is super easy, you go for the views. Its just that the shelf roads have a psychological factor to them and flatlanders get amped up on them.

I love Telluride. The locals are difficult to get along with, agree, but its such a cool place.

But boy is that scenery beautiful. The roads aren't made for 4x4 fun, they are groomed for tourists. There's nothing difficult about it. Black bear isn't difficult at all, you just need to pay attention.

I’d do Black Bear in a Jeep in a heartbeat. On a big adventure bike, which I had the opportunity to do? Not so much…

Also a big fan of Telluride and Ourey.

i’d like to make that run BBP just for the scenery. one and done. i’m wanting to get the jeep capable of holy cross.

You're capable of Holy Cross of you fixed your anti-rock. We'll drag you over shit if need be 😂

Actually, I think HC is overrated for toughness. It gets it's high rating because of Cleveland Rock which is at the end of the trail and completely optional. It's a fun trail though.
