Ok, guys, I am once again requesting some advice.
When I went to test the winch, I discovered the white wire in the remote connection was completely corroded and the pins receiving barell was broken.
If you guys know about repining one of these, let me know. I'd love to be able to fix this one.
If not, I see Amazon has this harness for about 50 bucks. I really don't want to pay that:
amazon new wiring harness
Or is there another option, like a wireless remote, I can wire a receiver: Amazon universal winch remote
This project has certainly become a bit of a money pit, but I'm having a lot of fun with it, and at this point, I'm too far in.
If you guys have any advice, let me know.

I suppose one crude solution would be to extend and pass the white wire through the connector to the side, and add an additional quick disconnect spade connector. So when I use the winch, I plug in the remote and the white wire separately.
In cab switch, bypass the remote for now. Best to fix eventually. Save your $$ for harness.

Alright guys... I am offically spooled up. 85ft synthetic line on the Fishbone offroad mounting plate.
Warn was kind enough to send me out new decals for free.
Im stoked on the way this came out. I still want to do the vent kit and seal the motor up, but I have a trip up north next weekend so this will have to do for now. I have some longer grade 8 bumper bolts on the way so I can put my hooks back on. I am going to 3d print a cap for the remote port since mine is broken off, will be using ASA for its UV resistance.

I just now came across this thread and read it beginning to end. You hang in there and make something good out of something discarded. In my younger years I did a lot of that out of necessity because funds were so limited. I am at a stage of life after a successful career where I no longer have to pinch Pennie’s nearly so tight. It’s really impressive to see such resourcefulness. I built and patched more stuf than you can imagine so I fully understand.
I am glad that you ended up with a synthetic rope. It is a much safer way to go. At the point in the thread where you were going to buy a cable I was going to offer you a steel cable for the cost of shipping, but if you had gotten hurt with it I would have felt guilty.

I'm definitely still in my penny pinching era, thinking about it this is inspiring me to write a thread on all my facebook marketplace finds lol. Im very grateful to have access to such great machine tools through my job after hours, it not only helps me practice my skills but allows me to take on bigger projects like this one.
Im very happy with the choice of synthetic rope, its much easier and definitely safer to work with.

Not sure if you’re aware of this or not, but UV light will accelerate the degradation of a synthetic rope. I go to great lengths to keep my winch ropes out of the sunlight as much as possible. I just bought a custom fit cover for my Jeep winch, and removed the universal cover that was there when I bought it.
If you are interested, measure your winch top to bottom and side to side and I will see if the cover will fit your winch. If it will and you would like to have it I can mail it to you. Otherwise it will just set on a shelf until a hangar cleaning and get thrown away.

@MBDIAGMAN I was aware of the UV degradation problem but Im not familiar with the rate at which that occurs. Usually I just tarp up the whole jeep when its not in use so usually the winch is covered unless im driving it. I really appreciate the offer though thank you!!.
