I have an 06 wrangler 4.0 automatic. My jeep won't go above 2200 RPM's and won't shift out of 2nd gear. It seems to be in limp mode. I was throwing the codes for crank/camshaft sensors and I replaced both of those. Cranshaft was replaced with mopar but unfortunately mopar no longer makes the camshaft sensor so I went with NAPA because I saw that that brand worked for some other people. I am now throwing a multitude of codes. P1684, P0846, P0755, P0038, P0645, P0161, P0344, P0129, P0700,and P0016. This all began with just the crank/cam codes and once I started replacing sensors now I'm throwing all these codes. I know that the P0755 says it's a bad solenoid, but I may be wrong but I don’t feel that it's actually the solenoid. Oh and also when we got under there to change the crankshaft position sensor there was a broken wire, i do not know what the wire was, but we fixed that. Please somebody help me!! Also I replaced the PCM roughly 3 years ago with one from wranglerfix. This is my daily driver that I use for work and I have to figure this out ASAP. Any help is greatly appreciated!

P0344, P0016 are related to the cam and crank sensors. Has the OPDA been replaced? Check the wires going over the dipstick. Those 2 will put you in limp mode.

Yes the OPDA was replaced approximately 3-ish years ago. I will go out and check those wires.

The transmission control is in the PCM on the 06, so you may have to discuss those and the O2 codes with @Wranglerfix .

Have you disconnected the battery to reset everything and see what comes back?

Yes I have disconnected the battery cables a few times. Nearly every time I remove a sensor (camshaft/crankshaft/throttle position sensor) and clean it or replace it with a new one it would either run worse than before or come out of limp mode for a little while, and then go right back. If I kill the engine and let it sit for a min or two and restart it will come out of limp mode briefly, but it still wont shift out of second gear, but at least it does start bucking at 2200 rpms. But then after a mile or two it goes right back. Im wondering if the P0755 is actually a bad solenoid or if there's a wire or something else causing it to throw that code. I hate to pay to replace that solenoid only for the problem to still be there.

Check the transmission wiring harness also. I found rubbed wires just above the sensor on my 06 auto.

I checked it last night but it was after dark and I was using a flashlight so I will definitely check it again today in the daylight. I was thinking of unplugging it and trying to clean it and look it over, but it seems everything i unplug something or replace something I get a new issue or it runs worse. Do you think it's safe for me to unplug it and try to clean it up could cause any worse issues?

You will have to look at the whole harness, it's a labor intensive process. I found the worn wire on mine the 3rd day of slowly running my fingers over each wire.

Be prepared for it to take a while.

Dang ok so you feel that me unplugging it to do that shouldn't 🤞cause any new issue? Sorry I have ptsd from this dang jeep and it's mystery issues. The problems it has had hasn't been astronomical in price, but finding the real issue has been crazy!

The harness runs from the driver's side across the top of the transmission to the passenger side. You could check the plugins but also need to check all the wires too.
