I changed the transmission fluid which corrected a shifting issue but know I have this leak which was probably the original issue when I bought it causing low fluid level. Fluid is leaking from from of transmission
I agree with Chris, and I'll add that when my RMS was leaking, and I replaced it, there was so much oil inside the bell housing that I thought the new seal was leaking, too. I sprayed brake cleaner up inside there through the gap between the aluminum cover and the bell housing face, but it continued to leak for a few months. It finally stopped, but when I pulled the transmission during my tummy tuck project probably a year after changing the RMS, there was still a small amount of oil residue in there!
The fluid is more clear like manual transmission fluid than oil. Oil in this tj is darker right now now. I’m going to replace valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket and rear main anyway

Did the dye test Igor transmission fluid and after driving It no leak yet. It appears the fluid maybe is anti-freeze but I can’t find the leak. Hoses, water pump, thermostat and headers don’t look like they’re leaking from where I can see. Oil isn’t creamy

If it is the front seal, check for play in your input shaft. The output shaft seal on my 4l60e got wrecked because the bushing was shot, allowing the output shaft to wallow out the seal and start to leak. Common mistake people make is not checking for play, and many times drop a trans/transfer case to replace a seal just to find out the seal didn't fail on it's own and have to do it all over again...

I finally changed the water pump and so far it has corrected the issue. From what I can tell without a lift, the coolant was running down the oil pan to the transmission and that’s why it was leaking from the transmission.
I should have done the uv test before adding dye to the transmission fluid and would have lead me to the water pump sooner.
