Is it possible to phase out the jeep ECU while doing an engine swap? Could you wire the gauges and all the stuff people typically save with the stock ECU for on a separate ECU (Hypothetically let’s say this separate ECU is a Holley of some sort)

97-01 Dash uses a CCD bus to talk to the dash 01.5-06 uses a PCI bus so you'd need a PCM to talk to the stock dash. Now if you replace your gauges with something aftermarket then you could eliminate the stock PCM. @Shank is doing a LS swap in his LJ and eliminated a lot of the stick wiring but is still running the stock ECM. https://wranglertjforum.com/threads/4-8-swap-cross-country-lj.72216/
