I weighed my 06 TJ

I’ve had my Jeep for nearly 5 years now & I finally got around to taking it to the CAT Scales a couple of days ago. With me & full tank of gas it came in at 4,140 pounds. I know that Jeeps are generally heavier than you would think, but this is a little heavier than I would have guessed. I imagine Smittybilt XRC bumpers & 9,500# winch make the weight add up quickly.

Mine weighed 4730 lbs when I checked 4 years ago. 2004 TJR, 35's, winch, JCR Offroad front bumper, sliders and rear tire carrier bumper, Rockman gas tank skid, Tuffy rear storage drawer with tools, OR Fab sport cage. It all adds up. My local garden supply will give me a free reading on their scale. Went there when it wasn't busy.

Mine's 4400 too... although I haven't weighed it since I swapped to an aluminum skid plate.

Very interesting to see since my 4cyl with a hard top and full doors plus me in it (I weight 190) was 3780lb so I’d assume half doors and soft top without me is 3400lb I will weight again some time this summer to know exactly. I’m only on 33s but i do have some steel like belly skids, sliders, rear bumper, which will move to aluminum when I can. In fact it’s so light my 3.5inch metal cloak coils are netting me 5in of actual lift because my weight.

Yes, That's what each axle can handle & then what the vehicle can handle. I'll have to dig out my owners manual and see if it has weights listed.

Front Axle Weight w/ driver - 2180 lbs.

Rear Axle Weight w/ driver - 2700 lbs.

Gross weight as currently modified, with driver and full tank of fuel fully loaded with gear, spares, tools, food, ice, extra fuel and water, etc. for extended trip - 5340 lbs. (weighed at CAT scale, 7/11/19)

Front Axle Weight w/ driver - 2180 lbs.

Rear Axle Weight w/driver - 3160 lbs.


Calculated weight of modifications - 683 lbs. (4695 - 4012)

Approximate weight of gear, spares, tools, extra fuel and water, food, ice, etc. when fully loaded - 460 lbs. (5340-4880)

It's amazing how quickly it adds up... Mine is around 5K lbs too.

Skinny bastards.
Mine came in at a mile, 5280#, fully loaded for the trail.
Had to slim down the tool kit and fluids.

Mine when it was on 33s.

Empty, no back seat, and 1/4 tank of fuel.

Fully loaded to camp for a week added 340lbs to that.
