I don't see it as a problem, I have to source oil with zinc for my TR6 and it is also a straight six tractor motor they use in them...something to do with the flat tappet design of the engine.

Great video! This will be my next task. I just bought a 2006 TJ. I'm going to do front and rear diff's. The video used rtv. Is lube locker gasket a better alternative?

I don't know if this is frowned upon but I'm going to use this gray gasket material from A zone, and make a diff gasket, I clean both surfaces with lacquer thinner, torque to specs..I'm trying this method cuz the closest thing to me is a lake and i have to be resourceful.. 
Anyone know if its ok to unbolt the lowest 5 bolts on the diff cover to install a diff skid plate, then reinstall the bolts? or is that sort of thing not advised and will mess up your gasket/seal potentially?
I know the bolts are best tightened in a special order so thats the only reason I ask...just curious if anyone has any thoughts on this.

If the gasket was done right it wouldn’t leak. I certainly wouldn’t try it without have gear oil and rtv on hand.

An earlier post said they couldn’t find a gasket for the Dana 30. FelPro makes one. P/N RDS 55019. I’ve had one on mine for a couple years now. I ordered through Advance Auto Parts online.
I'm using the Lube Locker Gaskets. A little pricey but for me it is worth it not to scrape gasket sealer, locate another gasket, and they are reusable. The Amsoil Easypaks are also a great way to get the lube into hard to access fill points.

Hey guy's, I found this thread and I have a question on if I have to put the limited slip oil ( I think that is what it is called, LOL been a while since I read on it.) in my differentials or not. I read some need it and some don't. I just don't know if mine does or not. LOL I added pics of the stuff I actually bought for my Liberty and never used it, so I am going to use it on the TJ. I have stock differentials for a 99.
This is what I used. My factory build sheet says I have a Trac-Lok Differential in the rear. The service manual says to use it but I dont think it says how much. The bottle gave a ratio to shoot for so I ended up using 2 oz of the 4 oz bottle.

I got my build sheet from an online course and mine says it has Command Trac. I guess I will add some just in case. LOL

NOTE: AMSOIL synthetic gear lubes do not require this additive. However, not all differentials respond the same and the addition of AMSOIL Slip Lock will eliminate chatter in mechanically sound differentials.
