Hello! Just joined the forum. First question...

I am replacing my sealed beam headlights.
I am keeping the 1997 stock and OG! (so no LED upgrade)
The manual lists the part as H6024.
I bought the H6024 part but the "pins" are longer (3/4") on the new headlight, than the short pins (.5") on the original headlights.
The socket does not slide totally over the pins and leave 1/4" bare & exposed.
The lights work.
Would this be a problem (short circuit, moisture, corrosion, contact?)
Can I use the long pin?

Thanks,
John

It looks like the pins are actually about 3/16 longer. Cut that amount off of the new pins so they will seat fully unexposed.

FYI, you can get a new set of Toyota H4 headlights for around $30. This includes the glass housings, the H4 bulbs, and a wiring harness with relays to the battery that takes the load off your headlight switch and prevents the switch body from melting (which is what happened to mine).

Search the internet Toyota dealers for 81110-60P70.

I saw one dealer advertising $16.49, but I didn’t look at the shipping cost. Last year I got a set for my TJ for around $30 shipped.
