That is indeed the correct fuel pump assembly for the 05-06, you can tell how the top of it is all integrated together without the separate fuel pressure regulator assembly. Amazon's p/n fitment guide is not consistently accurate but when I just checked it correctly said it fits a 2006.

Sorry but no, the 05-06 is a whole different beast from your 04.

Our '03 is beginning to take a bit longer to start.
I had been stopping the key in the run position for a few seconds to allow fuel pressure to build, but that has stopped helping.

Is it possible to replace the tank to get a newer (more available) pump, or are we stuck with this configuration unless we go full wallet dump?

Repeatedly turning the ignition switch to the On position at least several times will give the fuel pump more run time, it always shuts itself off 1.8 seconds after running until you power it up again. You can buy just the Bosch fuel pump itself and install it into your existing fuel pump assembly. What causes a slow start like yours is a leaky check valve inside the fuel pump.
